It Wont Stop: Fetterman Predicts Democratic Partys Anti-Israel Shift Will Only Accelerate

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) warned that his own party is steadily abandoning Israel and failing to defend American Jews, arguing that the trend is not only entrenched but likely to intensify.

According to Breitbart, Fettermans remarks came during an interview on Newsmax TVs The Record, where he reacted to a House vote in which more than 100 Democrats supported cutting aid to Israel. He tied that vote to a broader pattern on the left, stating, we, in the Democratic Party are going to back, back, back, back away from Israel and not defend the Jewish community in our nation. And thats where we are. We have that manifestation with that vote yesterday.

Host Greta Van Susteren framed the issue as part of a mounting wave of antisemitism, telling Fetterman, its been drip, drip, drip, drip of antisemitism in this country. Weve seen it grow on college campuses, on streets. And now we have this, what I would describe as almost a seismic shift inside the House of Representatives, where 104 Democrats want to cut the funding from Israel. Your thought about this. Fetterman agreed that the problem has been building for some time, pointing to radicalized campuses and emboldened agitators.

Yeah, well, without a doubt, look at the kinds of chaos that happened on the college campuses all across our nation, he said, describing scenes where students [were] taking over buildings and terrorizing Jewish students. He noted that, As a Democrat, I absolutely supported when the Trump administration held a lot of these universities fully accountable, including my own alma mater, too, at Harvard, too, a rare acknowledgment from a Democrat that President Trumps tougher stance on universities was justified.

Fetterman stressed that the current rupture over Israel did not surprise him, but rather confirmed his long-standing concerns. So, to be clear, thats not something Im surprised to witness, but its something Ive been warning within the Democratic Party, we, in the Democratic Party are going to back, back, back, back away from Israel and not defend the Jewish community in our nation. And thats where we are. We have that manifestation with that vote yesterday.

Van Susteren pressed him on solutions, asking, How do we reverse this trend? Because, as I started this interview, I pointed out how everything is drip, drip, drip, and now were taking this huge leap within the Democratic members of the House of Representatives, 104 of them. How do we stop how do we arrest this trend? Fetterman offered a bleak assessment of his partys trajectory, replying, It wont stop. In fact, if anything, its going to accelerate. Look at the people that have won. Theyve anti-Israel, anti-American, anti-Western Civilization overall.
