Kamala Harris is again facing mockery for a meandering motivational speech, this time delivered to the WNBAs Los Angeles Sparks with detractors branding the remarks yet another installment of her trademark "word salad.
".
According to Fox News, Harris praised the team for making an "incredible impact" on the country, even as critics noted the spectacle of the Democrats recent presidential nominee now "giving speeches to the WNBA." In her address, Harris declared, "I travel our country. Young girls, boys, people of every gender background, race, watch the W, and understand how inspiring it is," a line that underscored her familiar emphasis on identity politics rather than concrete policy or achievement.
She urged the players, "So keep doing what you're doing. You guys are impacting people who you may never meet," before adding that their influence extends to people who "may never know your names or mine but they are aware of what you are." Harris went on, "And it is giving them a sense of their value, their dignity, and what they have a right to expect from this world so congratulations on this game, but congratulations as much as anything else for the path you guys are charting. It is extraordinary to watch."
Outkick founder Clay Travis dismissed the remarks, saying the former vice president made "zero sense." He also pointedly observed, "This league has still never had a team visit the White House with Trump in office," highlighting what many conservatives see as a persistent ideological snub of President Donald Trump and his supporters.
Former University of Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines, speaking on Fox News, drew a sharp contrast with the outrage once directed at FBI Director Kash Patel for addressing the U.S. Olympic Mens Hockey Team after its upset of Canada. Gaines said that while she had not yet watched Harris speech, she could not forget the left-wing backlash Patel faced for simply congratulating American athletes.
"Was there any outrage like there was when Kash Patel was in the men's locker room after the Olympic team won a gold medal at the Olympics? No, I don't think so," she said, suggesting a double standard when conservatives appear in sports settings. Other critics blasted Harris for serving up more "delusional word salad nonsense," a phrase that has become shorthand on the right for her often circular and vague rhetoric.
Online reaction was equally scathing, with one user writing, "I still thank God every single day that this woman lost the election." Another commenter sneered, "She's like a party clown at this point," while a third quipped, "Total mystery how this person lost every swing state," capturing the broader conservative view that Harris public performances continue to validate voters rejection of her at the ballot box.
