Pete Davidson Has A 'Bone To Pick' With PETA (Listen To His Message Here)

Comedian Pete Davidson has been in a heated exchange with animal rights organization PETA.

Davidson, 29, recently purchased a Cavapoo, a mixed breed between the Cavalier King Charles spaniel and the poodle, from a pet shop in New York City.

Senior Vice President of Cruelty Investigations at PETA, Daphna Nachminovitch, expressed disappointment in Davidson's decision to shop rather than adopt. In response, Davidson left a voicemail for Nachminovitch, telling her to "suck my d k."

Davidson explained that the dog was for his mother, who was grieving the loss of their family dog, Henry, who passed away prematurely. He also revealed that he is "severely allergic" to dogs and had to get a hypoallergenic breed. According to AZ Animals, Cavapoos are considered a safe breed for allergy sufferers due to their low-shed coats. Davidson criticized PETA for creating news stories without proper research and called their statement "uneducated and premature."

PETA responded by stating that there is "no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog" and that Davidson could have adopted the breed he purchased from a pet store. However, Davidson claimed he was unaware he could adopt a specific hypoallergenic dog and was told it wasn't an option. He also expressed his upset at PETA for making a public example of himself and his family during grief.

In their original statement, PETA hoped that Davidson would "show some big heart energy" and adopt rather than shop in the future. Nachminovitch also suggested that Davidson could have found a "scrappy New Yorker with charm, personality, and unconventional handsomeness" at a city animal shelter. However, Davidson defended his decision, stating that he was trying to cheer up his family and that the dog was a specific breed he needed due to his allergies.
