Border Czar Tom Homan used a high-profile conservative gathering in Washington, D.C., to argue that the Trump administration has not only reversed what he called President Joe Bidens catastrophic border failures but is poised to intensify enforcement even further.
Speaking at the Faith & Freedom Coalitions Road to Majority Conference, Homan framed the contrast in stark terms, describing Bidens approach as essentially, let everyone in and dont ask questions. According to RedState, he told the audience that the Trump team has already delivered unprecedented enforcement results and is only getting started.
Homan highlighted what he described as a dramatic escalation in immigration enforcement capacity, declaring, We had a historic year with deportations, but now we got 10,000 more agents on board, or should be on board, by the end of next month. He then added a pointed warning to those who favor lax border policies: Wait till next year.
His remarks directly challenged the Lefts narrative that deportations and strict border enforcement are inherently cruel and that Donald Trump is indifferent to human suffering. Homan argued that the real cruelty lies in permissive, progressive policies that encourage dangerous journeys and empower cartels.
He delivered one of the speechs most forceful lines when he said, I don't want to hear another damn word about President Trump being inhumane. Emphasizing the human toll of illegal immigration, he insisted, He's saving lives every day.
Homan cited independent research on the dangers faced by migrants, particularly women, who attempt to enter the United States illegally. There's been studies done that 31 percent of women and these studies are done by independent groups up to 31 percent of women that make that journey coming to the United States get sexually assaulted, he said.
Thirty-one percent admitted they got sexually assault in making that journey, he continued, underscoring the likely undercount. If 31 admitted it, how many is that, how many is that number, really?
From there, Homan drew a direct line between Trumps enforcement policies and the prevention of these abuses. So when President Trump has illegal migration down 97 percent, how many women aren't being raped? How many children aren't dying making that journey? How many known suspected terrorists aren't coming into the country? How many pounds of fentanyl isn't coming across the border to kill Americans?
President Trump is saving thousands of lives every month, but no one wants to talk about it, he said, arguing that media outlets and progressive politicians ignore these realities because they undermine the open-borders narrative. For conservatives, his remarks reinforced the view that strong borders are not only a matter of sovereignty and law, but of basic human decency.
Homan also shared a more lighthearted anecdote about how Trump personally pressed him back into service after the 2024 election. He recalled the presidents blunt, characteristic pitch: Youve been bitching about [illegal immigration] for four years, you want to come fix it?
How do you say no to that? Homan said, drawing laughter from the crowd as he recounted the exchange. In a separate clip, he repeated the moment with Trumps exact phrasing: First thing he said, 'You've been b****** about it for four years. You want to come fix it?' So you know, how do you say no to that?
Despite the humor, Homan made clear that his role comes with serious personal risk. He noted that he receives constant death threats and cannot even go to the grocery store without a full security detail, a reality he treats as the cost of confronting cartels and criminal networks.
His message to those who would like to silence or intimidate him was characteristically defiant: To the haters and the cartel members who threaten me, come get some. For conservatives who see border security as a defining issue of national survival, Homans vow to expand enforcement, backed by thousands of additional agents and a president committed to closing the border, signaled that the fight against Biden-era open-border policies is only intensifying.
