Jimmy Fallon used his Tonight Show monologue to lampoon President Donald Trumps new Great American State Fair, casting the 16-day event on the National Mall as little more than a campaign rally in carnival clothing.

According to Mediaite, Fallon seized on the fairs opening night in Washington, where President Trump marked the coming 250th anniversary of the United States and proclaimed that America is back. The White House has promoted the Freedom 250-backed fair as a patriotic, nonpartisan celebration, yet the launch featured the familiar trappings of a Trump rally, including a speech from the president and a program that leaned heavily on his signature political style.

Fallon opened by highlighting how President Trump stepped in after several musical acts reportedly backed out of the event, quipping that Its the first event where BYOB means bring your own band, before adding, Tonight included a military flyover, Lee Greenwood singing God Bless the USA, and a speech by Trump. He then jabbed at the repetition of the presidents message, saying, Even Trumps biggest fans are like, Is this a repeat? Cause I feel like Ive seen this 400 times.

Turning to the fair itself, Fallon described the mix of food stalls, exhibits, and rides that now line the National Mall, while inventing a few satirical attractions aimed at Trumps allies. The rally kicked off the 16-day Great American State Fair in the National Mall, Fallon said. Theres funnel cake, theres corn dogs, turkey legs, and lots of other foods found during Trumps colonoscopy.

The comedian then escalated his mockery of the presidents inner circle, telling viewers, Its cool! Yeah, the fair has everything. Theres even a dunk tank with JD Vance and a drunk tank with Kash Patel. So theres both. Yes. Theres a lot. Theres something for everyone. He also took a swipe at Secretary of State Marco Rubio, joking, Theres also a 110-foot Ferris wheel and an antique carousel. Unfortunately, Marco Rubio isnt tall enough to ride them.

Yeah, the state fair will be a lot of fun, Fallon said, before closing with a visual gag aimed at the Trump-era renovation of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. Although if you win a goldfish, Im pretty sure I know where they got the water from he cracked, as an image of a fishbag filled with murky green water appeared on screen, underscoring how late-night comedy continues to use Trumps high-profile patriotic events as fodder for partisan ridicule.
