Chaos erupted outside the federal courthouse in St. Paul, Minnesota, after federal prosecutors announced sweeping charges against 15 alleged Antifa militants.
According to Gateway Pundit, the U.S. Attorneys Office for the District of Minnesota unsealed a federal indictment accusing the defendants of participating in two Minneapolis-based Antifa cells that violently resisted federal immigration enforcement during Operation Metro Surge. The indictment states, Today, a federal indictment was unsealed charging 15 defendants with conspiracy to impede or injure federal officers and other charges related to efforts of two Minneapolis-based ANTIFA groups that violently opposed the enforcement of federal law in our state.
Federal authorities framed the case as a direct challenge to left-wing extremist efforts to obstruct immigration law and undermine federal authority. Working closely with the U.S. Attorneys Office, our investigation uncovered extensive planning, material support, and coordinated attacks against federal personnel and facilities, DHS special agent Michael McCarthy said.
McCarthy underscored that federal law enforcement would not retreat in the face of intimidation from radical groups that reject the rule of law. It is not optional we will enforce the law. Any attempt to undermine it through violence or intimidation will be met with DECISIVE ACTION, Homeland Security Special Agent in Charge Michael McCarthy said.
Later in the day, demonstrators aligned with the indicted Antifa members gathered outside the Warren E. Burger federal courthouse and quickly turned confrontational. Federal officers deployed spray and physically repelled the crowd as some protesters attempted to force their way into the building.
The hostility of the mob was captured on video as one rioter screamed, F*ck you Fascist Nazis! at federal personnel. The episode highlights the growing clash between far-left street militancy and federal authorities determined to uphold immigration law and protect public institutions from political violence.
