The White House is pushing back against pop star Ariana Grande after the Wicked actress objected to the Trump administrations use of one of her songs in a social media video highlighting Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations.
According to Fox News, Grande criticized the administration for pairing her track Bye with a TikTok clip showing ICE arrests, prompting a sharp response from the West Wing. White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson told Fox News Digital, "Well say this one last time: whats actually barbaric, inhumane, and heinous are the criminal illegal aliens who have injured and murdered innocent American citizens."
Grande, 32, had written in the comments section of the video, "please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense. f-- ice." The TikToks caption read, "Bye-bye. President Trump has delivered the most secure border in history."
By Thursday, the audio track featuring Grandes song appeared to have been removed from the video, even as the administration continues to spotlight its tougher border and enforcement posture. The clash underscores the widening gap between Hollywood progressives and an administration that has prioritized border security and the rule of law.
Grande has long aligned herself with left-wing activism, posting last September that "immigrants have been violently torn from their families and communities have been destroyed." She also attended the Womens March shortly after President Donald Trump took office in 2017 and publicly opposed his commonsense transgender bathroom policies on social media.
Last year, she circulated a protest sign stating, "Could someone explain which crimes get you deported and which ones get you elected President? Its so confusing," referencing Trump being convicted of 34 felonies related to his falsifying business records in the Stormy Daniels "hush money" case. She has previously backed Kamala Harris for president and performed for then-President Barack Obama at the White House in 2014, underscoring her consistent support for Democrat politicians.
Fox News Digital has reached out to representatives for Grande for comment, while the White House continues to frame its immigration agenda as a defense of American citizens against "criminal illegal aliens."
