Seattles New Socialist Mayor Just Said No To Somali Daycare Fraud Probe

Seattles new socialist mayor is refusing to investigate alleged fraud in Somali-run daycare centers, even as similar schemes have already been exposed elsewhere in the country.

According to the Gateway Pundit, the controversy comes after extensive fraud was uncovered at Somali daycare centers in Minneapolis, raising obvious questions about oversight in other cities. Yet when Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson was asked whether she was conducting any investigation into similar concerns, she replied with a curt no.

As reported by the Gateway Pundit, Seattle socialist mayor will NOT investigate fraud at Somali-run daycare centers, calls it attack on immigrants. In an interview with KOMO News, Wilson was asked if she had authorized the Seattle Police Department or the citys Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs to investigate fraud charges involving daycare providers, particularly those in Somali and other immigrant communities, and the mayor responded: No.

This whole issue is not really about fraud, said Wilson. Its about dividing and conquering. Its about making an immigrant community a target. Theres no reason to assume based on the identity of a daycare operator that their small business is doing anything wrong. She added that its problematic to have random people showing up to daycares and emphasized that the fear in the Somali community is real and the fear in immigrant communities are real, saying her administration is taking that very seriously.

For Wilson, the matter appears to be driven by ideology rather than accountability, as she frames basic financial scrutiny as an attack on immigrants. Yet ensuring that taxpayers are not being defrauded is not a partisan matter, and many Americans will see her refusal to investigate as a troubling sign that political correctness is being placed above fiscal responsibility and equal enforcement of the law.
