Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has announced the arrests of two radical anti-ICE agitators in Newark, New Jersey, underscoring the Trump Administrations pledge to defend federal law enforcement from violent left-wing mobs.
According to the Gateway Pundit, the arrests stem from a series of escalating confrontations outside the Delaney Hall Detention Center, where anti-ICE demonstrators this week blockaded vehicles and attacked federal officers in what amounted to a coordinated assault on the rule of law. Two individuals were previously taken into custody after allegedly deploying a chemical substance against agents near the facility, part of a broader campaign by extremist activists to obstruct immigration enforcement and intimidate those tasked with carrying it out.
One protester, captured on video in a profane tirade, screamed at agents, "I'll kill your whole f*cking family! Your whole f*cking family is dead! Your children, your wife, all dead!" He continued his threats, shouting, "I have your face, motherf*cker! You're dead. Dead!"
Blanche addressed the incident during an interview with Fox News host Will Cain on Thursday, making clear that federal authorities would not allow such threats to go unanswered. He emphasized that the Department of Justice had already identified the man, declaring that "We will find him."
Condemning the rhetoric as beyond the pale, Blanche urged Americans to consider the depravity of targeting officers loved ones. "Think about how disgusting this individual is, threatening his family and his children with death," Blanche said, adding, "We see his face, and we will find him, and when we find him, we will arrest him because it is a crime not only to threaten law enforcement, but not surprisingly, to threaten their family as well."
The following day, Blanche announced that the suspect had indeed been apprehended, offering a terse reminder that such behavior carries consequences. "Told you," he said, adding "FAFO."
Fox correspondent Alexis McAdams reported that the man has been identified as Nicholas Scelfo, who now faces felony charges tied to his explicit death threats. His arrest sends a pointed message that the Trump Justice Department will not allow radical activists to terrorize officers or their families under the guise of protest.
The Department of Homeland Security reinforced that stance in a statement on X, writing, "Justice will be served. The Trump Administration will always have the backs of our heroic law enforcement as they put their lives on the line to protect our nation." That declaration reflects a sharp contrast with years of left-wing rhetoric that has demonized ICE and emboldened anti-police agitators nationwide.
Blanche also revealed that another rioter, identified as Brendan John Geier, was arrested and charged after allegedly kicking and biting ICE agents during the same unrest. In graphic photographs documenting the encounter, deep gashes and visible teeth marks can be seen carved into the agents skin.
Detailing the charges on X, Blanche wrote: "Today @TheJusticeDept charged rioter Brendan John Geier for allegedly kicking and biting ICE officers at Delaney Hall last night. We will not tolerate the vicious attacks on ICE officers weve seen in New Jersey the last few days. These riots are clearly not peaceful protests as you can see from the photos of these horrific wounds. Assault a federal officer, youll be held accountable."
As leftist activists and their media allies continue to rebrand violent uprisings as peaceful protests, the Trump Administrations response in Newark signals a firmer return to law and order. With President Trumps second administration again backing ICE and federal officers without apology, the message to would-be rioters is unmistakable: attack law enforcement, threaten their families, and the federal government will come for you, not look the other way.
