The Trump White House has turned the tables on CNN, using the networks own tactics to mock its latest round of speculation about President Donald Trumps health.
According to Gateway Pundit, left-wing activists and their media allies have spent months peddling theories that President Trump is concealing serious medical problems. They have fixated on what they claim are visible signs of trouble, including swelling in his legs, bruising on his hands, and routine medical visits, while also insisting he regularly falls asleep during meetings.
This sudden wave of supposed concern stands in stark contrast to the establishment medias years-long effort to downplay or outright ignore Joe Bidens obvious cognitive and physical decline while he occupied the Oval Office. CNN has been particularly aggressive in amplifying the anti-Trump health narrative, even as it looked the other way when Biden struggled through basic public appearances.
President Trump abruptly undercut those narratives by publicly disclosing the outcome of his scheduled medical evaluation. Just finished my 6-month physical at Walter Reed Military Medical Center. Everything checked out PERFECTLY, Trump wrote. Thank you to the great Doctors and Staff! Heading back to the White House.
The White Houses Rapid Response account on X then went on offense, circulating a series of unflattering screenshots of CNN personalities with their eyes closed on air. The first image targeted anchor Kate Bolduan, accompanied by a pointed caption: Did @KateBolduan and her guest on Fake News CNN just fall asleep mid-interview? Their eyes are CLOSED! the post read. What are they hiding about their health?
The campaign continued with an image of reporter Kevin Lipkin, suggesting he too appeared less than fully alert. Dana Bash was highlighted in another shot, seemingly dozing just days before her 55th birthday, while Wall Street Journal reporter and CNN contributor Josh Dawsey was shown apparently lost in a daydream.
Further images featured Brianna Keilar, followed by a frame of Jake Tapper appearing to catch some sleep during a news segment. The message from the Trump team was unmistakable: if CNN intends to traffic in innuendo about the Presidents health, it should be prepared to have the same standard applied to its own on-air talent.
For a network that has eagerly promoted unverified claims about Trump while shielding Democrats from similar scrutiny, the episode underscores a broader credibility problem. CNN might want to start performing wellness checks on its employees before amplifying false rumors about Trumps health.
