'Get Him OUT On Tuesday': Trump Turns On Thomas Massie In One Of His Harshest Attacks Yet

Fresh from helping to end Sen. Bill Cassidys political career in Louisiana, President Donald Trump is turning his fire on Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky, urging Republican voters to oust another intraparty critic and warning the rest of the GOP that defiance carries consequences.

According to Fox News, Trump moved swiftly after Cassidys stunning failure to even qualify for the Republican Senate primary ballot, casting the Louisiana senators downfall as a cautionary tale for any Republican who breaks with the MAGA movement.

In a blistering Truth Social post just after midnight, Trump declared, "Tom Massie of Kentucky, the worst and most unreliable Republican Congressman in the history of our Country, is an even bigger insult to our Nation than Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, who suffered an unprecedented loss tonight by not even being allowed to run in the Republican Primary." He added, "This is the first time such a thing has ever happened to a sitting U.S. Senator!" and drove home the message: "Thats what you get by voting to Impeach an innocent man, especially one who made it possible for Cassidys Senate win."

Cassidys collapse in Louisianas Republican Senate primary came Saturday night, when he finished behind Rep. Julia Letlow and state Treasurer John Fleming, failing to advance to the June 27 runoff. Letlow and Fleming will now compete head-to-head after no candidate secured a majority, leaving Cassidy on the outside looking in despite his incumbency and years in Washington.

Trump seized on that outcome as a political warning shot aimed squarely at Massie, a libertarian-leaning Republican who has repeatedly bucked the presidents agenda since 2020 and whom Trump has derided as a "grand-stander." The president escalated his rhetoric, writing, "Very disloyal, but Tom Massie, a major Sleazebag, is even worse!" and imploring Kentucky Republicans, "Kentucky, get this LOSER out of politics in Tuesdays Election. He is nicknamed Rand Paul Jr., another real 'beauty,' because of his absolutely terrible voting habits."

Trump then pivoted to a full-throated endorsement of Massies primary challenger, retired Navy SEAL and farmer Ed Gallrein, casting the race as a test of loyalty to the America First agenda. "Vote for Ed Gallrein, a successful Kentucky farmer, and American War Hero, who only ran because he thought that Massie was so disloyal and disrespectful to your President, ME!" Trump wrote, praising Gallrein as "a great man, Central Casting, in fact, who truly deserves to represent the fantastic people of Kentucky, a Commonwealth that I am proud to have won all three times, in record fashion!"

The president closed that appeal with his signature flourish, promising Gallrein would be a dependable ally for conservative voters. "ED WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" he declared, underscoring that this primary is not merely about one congressional seat but about the direction of the Republican Party itself.

Massie and Gallrein will face off Tuesday in the GOP primary for Kentuckys 4th Congressional District, a heavily Republican region where the primary is effectively the general election. The contest has quickly become one of the most closely watched House primaries of the cycle, with Trumps endorsement transforming what might have been a routine renomination into a high-stakes referendum on Massies brand of anti-establishment independence.

Trump continued his offensive on Sunday morning, broadening his critique of Massies record on core conservative priorities. "Bad Congressman Tom Massie voted against Tax Cuts, the Border Wall, our Military and Law Enforcement," he wrote, adding, "Actually, he voted against almost everything that is good. The Worst Republican Congressman in History. Kentucky, vote the bum out on Tuesday. We cant live with this troublemaker for another two years. He is a true negative force!!!"

Those broadsides followed a series of celebratory posts Saturday night as Trump reveled in Cassidys downfall in Louisiana. "A BIG NIGHT IN POLITICS. THANK YOU TO ALL!" he wrote, framing the result as vindication against one of the seven Republican senators who voted to convict him after the Jan. 6 Capitol protest in his second impeachment trial.

Cassidys impeachment vote has long made him a target for Trump and grassroots conservatives who viewed the proceeding as a partisan attempt to criminalize political disagreement. Trump branded Cassidy "disloyal" and declared his "political career is OVER!" while simultaneously congratulating Letlow, saying she ran a "fantastic race" and would "make a brilliant Senator" after "taking care of some additional business."

Letlow finished first in Saturdays primary, with Fleming in second and Cassidy a distant third, a dramatic fall for a sitting senator. Trumps swift praise for Letlow and his focus on Cassidys humiliation underscored his message that Republicans who side with Democrats on impeachment or foreign policy should not expect forgiveness from the partys base.

With Louisiana settled for now, Trumps attention has shifted back to Kentucky, where Massie has previously survived Trump-aligned pressure campaigns but now faces a well-funded, MAGA-backed challenger in Gallrein. Massie has represented the 4th District since 2012, building a reputation as a staunch fiscal conservative and civil libertarian, but one whose votes often put him at odds with party leadership and the president.

The feud between Trump and Massie has intensified over the past year as the congressman has continued to defy the party line on spending and foreign policy. Trump called for Massie to be primaried after the Kentucky Republican opposed a short-term government funding bill in March 2025, tying his opposition to demands for the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files and resistance to Trumps decision to go to war with Iran.

Massie, who prides himself on voting his conscience rather than following party orders, pushed back publicly against Trumps threats. "Someone thinks they can control my voting card by threatening my reelection," Massie shot back at Trump last year, signaling he would not be easily intimidated even as he now faces a serious primary challenge.

Trump has also widened the conflict to include Massies allies, taking aim at Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado for campaigning with him in Kentucky. He labeled Boebert "Weak Minded" and suggested that he might reconsider his endorsement of her if a credible challenger emerged in Colorados 4th Congressional District, raising the stakes for any Republican who sides with Massie.

"Boebert is campaigning for the Worst 'Republican' Congressman in the History of our Country, Thomas Massie, of the Great Commonwealth of Kentucky, and anybody who can be that dumb deserves a good Primary fight!" Trump wrote in an earlier Saturday night Truth Social post. He went further, warning, "Even though I long ago endorsed Boebert, if the right person came along, it would be my Honor to withdraw that Endorsement, and endorse a good and proper alternative. Just let me know, or announce your Candidacy, and I will be there for you!"

Massie, for his part, has argued that Trumps threats against Boebert are not only misguided but also moot under Colorados election rules. "I've seen people calling for primary challengers against Boebert online since she got here [Friday]," Massie told reporters after his Kentucky campaign rally Saturday. "Her primary is already closed. So they can call for that. It's too late."

He also noted that Trumps attacks on Sen. Rand Paul, another libertarian-leaning Kentucky Republican backing Massie, are similarly mistimed. "And Rand Paul's not on the ballot this year. You're going to have to wait two whole years. So I think he should be mending fences with these folks, not trying to burn bridges."

Trump had opened the night by blasting both Boebert and Paul for stumping for Massie, portraying them as obstacles to a unified conservative front. "Word is that Rand Paul and Lauren Boebert, two very difficult, and highly unreasonable, Republican Votes, are right now in the Great Commonwealth of Kentucky, which I won by 31 points, parading around like fools for the Worst 'Republican' Congressman in the History of our Party!" he wrote, calling Massie "a disloyal, ungracious, and sanctimonious FOOL, who almost never votes for even the best of Republican Values."

He again contrasted Massie with Gallrein, whom he cast as the embodiment of the MAGA movements priorities and temperament. "The man running against Massie, Ed Gallrein, is a true American Patriot, a Farmer from Kentucky, and a Military Hero. He is loyal, and MAGA all the way VOTE FOR ED GALLREIN, AND WIPE AWAY THE STENCH OF ONE OF THE WORST CONGRESSMEN IN THE HISTORY OF OUR GREAT PARTY, THOMAS MASSIE. MAY WE NEVER HAVE TO DEAL WITH HIM AGAIN!" Trump wrote, making clear that for conservatives who want a party aligned with secure borders, lower taxes, and a strong America First foreign policy, Tuesdays primary in Kentucky is about far more than one congressional seat.
