Authorities say the disturbance began around 9 p.m. Sunday when an argument between two women escalated into a broader confrontation involving rival gangs, a reminder of how quickly lawlessness can overtake public spaces when order breaks down. More than 80 rounds were fired into the large crowd of teens and young adults gathered at the lakeside location, police reported, turning a night out into a battlefield.
