A Fox News executive has been dismissed after being caught on hidden camera boasting that he could run up thousands of dollars in strip club charges on a company credit card and have them approved.
According to WND, Fox Weather confirmed that Jason Hermes, a senior figure at the networks weather division, has been terminated following the release of an undercover video by the OKeefe Media Group (OMG). The outlet reported that OMGs investigation captured Hermes making sweeping claims about how easily corporate funds could allegedly be abused, raising serious questions about internal controls at one of Americas largest media companies.
In its public statement, Fox Weather emphasized that Hermes remarks bore no resemblance to reality inside the organization. The comments he made during a personal outing grossly misrepresented his position at FOX Weather and within the larger company. Expense reports are subject to a sophisticated review and auditing process, and his wildly bizarre claims were immediately investigated, which we are in the process of finishing. We have found no evidence whatsoever that they are true.
OMG said Jason Hermes bragged to an undercover OMG journalist that he can just walk into a strip club and spend thousands of dollars on a Fox corporate credit card. On camera, Hermes declared, You could take this [Fox Credit Card], walk into a strip club, literally, and spend $4,000on Fox! Go into your corporate manager, and they would sign it and pay it offits still like that.
Hermes also boasted about his status inside the media world, suggesting he enjoyed the perks of fame without public accountability. He said, Its the best job, because Im a celebrity around all of it, but no one knows me. Its like winning the lottery.
The OMG report underscored that such conduct, if true, would be a direct affront to Foxs own ethics rules and to shareholders who expect honest accounting. Lying on an expense report, such as disguising strip club charges, directly violates Fox Medias Standards of Business Conduct, which require accurate and complete information. These apparent false entries are rolled into budgets, audits, and corporate filings, making company disclosures misleading instead of full, fair, and accurate. Because Fox requires employees to record truthful data, Hermes is in clear violation of this policy, which can constitute financial misconduct.
WND noted that Hermes joined Fox Weather in September 2024 after serving as vice president of content marketing sales at the Weather Channel. For conservatives who have long criticized corporate media for hypocrisy and lax internal standards, the Hermes episode reinforces concerns about a culture that too often indulges elite insiders while lecturing ordinary Americans on ethics and responsibility.
