Tim Walz Brands ICE Armed Lawless Gangs In Fiery State Of The State Rant Against Trump

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz used his State of the State Address on Tuesday to launch a sweeping denunciation of federal immigration enforcement, likening ICE agents to armed lawless gangs and describing President Donald Trumps border policies as an unthinkable federal invasion.

.

According to Gateway Pundit, Walz delivered the remarks from the Minnesota House Chamber, where he dramatically portrayed routine immigration enforcement as a coordinated assault on his state. He declared, We experienced an unthinkable federal invasion of our state. For months, armed lawless gangs roamed our communities in a campaign of organized brutality. Families lived in fear. Children were separated from their parents. Neighbors from neighbors.

The governor went further, alleging that Minnesotans who had done nothing wrong were subjected to racial profiling and unlawful detentions. His rhetoric was aimed squarely at the Trump administrations Operation Metro Surge, a federal initiative designed to counter Minnesotas sanctuary-style policies that shield criminal illegal aliens from deportation.

Federal officials at the Department of Homeland Security had repeatedly criticized Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey for refusing to honor ICE detainers on illegal immigrants in state and local custody. Rather than acknowledge the public-safety concerns raised by those detainers, Walz chose to vilify the agents tasked with enforcing federal law.

Later in his address, Walz attempted to shift blame for massive fraud in Minnesotas Somali community, attributing the billions lost on his watch to the states generosity. This framing sidestepped his administrations responsibility for oversight failures while reinforcing his pattern of excusing misconduct under the banner of compassion.

Walzs record reflects a consistent softness on illegal immigration and crime, a stance that has only hardened as he emerged as Kamala Harris running mate in 2024. In January, he compared ICE raids to Nazis arresting Anne Frank, and earlier this month, he labeled Trump a fascist during a trip to Europe.

The governor has not only demonized federal agents but also demanded Washington pay for what he calls the deep damage caused by ICE operations. He even joined forces with the ACLU and other left-wing groups to sue the Trump administration over ICE-related incidents, underscoring his preference for ideological grandstanding over enforcing the rule of law.
