Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, once a prominent ally of President Donald Trump, is now openly entertaining the notion that the attempt on his life in Butler, Pennsylvania, may not have been what it seemed.
In one of the most dramatic episodes of the 2024 campaign, President Trump was nearly killed when a bullet fired by the deranged gunman Thomas Matthew Crook came within inches of his head, grazing his ear and leaving him with only minor injuries, according to Gateway Pundit. The near-fatal incident, which many conservatives saw as a stark reminder of the escalating political violence in America, has now become the subject of skepticism from a figure who previously branded herself as a MAGA firebrand.
Greene, who resigned from Congress earlier this year, has begun amplifying claims that the shooting may have been staged or at least not fully explained to the public. Posting on X, she shared a message from a user identified as Trisha Hope, who argued that Trump has shown no interest in investigating what really happened.
Now, I want you to look critically at this photo, the post Greene shared declares, focusing on the now-famous image of Trump standing on stage with blood on his face and a flag behind him. They allowed President Trump to stand up, exposing multiple potential kill shots, as the flag is gently lowered.
The post goes on to question the conduct of the Secret Service in that moment. Interesting that the other SS agents lower their heads as the perfectly time ICONIC photo is taken.
Honestly, it couldnt have been scripted better if were to have been done in a studio. Greene endorsed the message, writing, Extremely important post worth the read and consideration. Corey Comperatores family deserves to know the truth about Matthew Crooks and what happened in Butler on July 13, 2024.
She then pointedly challenged the Presidents response. President Trump, of all people, should be leading the charge. Why isnt he? Thats the question.
Greene has not stopped at questioning the Butler shooting, but has escalated her criticism of Trumps leadership and judgment. Earlier this week, she urged that the 25th Amendment be invoked to remove him from office over his hardline rhetoric toward Iran.
I think that is completely unacceptable for the president of the United States, for any leader of any country around the world, to call for an entire civilization to be killed, she said, casting his stance on Tehran as beyond the pale. In a sense, the innocent lives to be wiped out, she continued. And, that really gave me grave concern for his mental capacity and thats what the 25th Amendment is for.
Her remarks place her in direct conflict with much of the conservative base, which has largely rallied around Trumps toughness on Iran and views the Butler attack as a sobering reality, not a staged spectacle. Yet Greenes pivot from staunch supporter to vocal critic underscores a broader struggle inside the right over loyalty, accountability, and how far skepticism of official narratives should go when it begins to undermine a sitting Republican president.
