UFC President Dana White brushed aside an attempt to politicize the promotions upcoming UFC Freedom 250 event during a post-fight press conference following UFC 327 on Saturday night.
According to Gateway Pundit, the veteran fight executive, long known for his blunt, no-nonsense style, was pressed by a reporter about the June 14, 2026 card scheduled for the South Lawn of the White House. The event, timed to mark 250 years of American independence, is being billed by the organization as a patriotic celebration rather than a partisan spectacle.
Be Part of History UFC Freedom 250 celebrates the 250th birthday of the United States with a once-in-a-generation tribute to the American fighting spirit, the UFC said in its promotional materials. From the Revolution to the Octagon, this unforgettable event will unite generations through powerful storytelling and elite competition on the worlds greatest proving ground, the organization added, framing the card as a salute to national heritage and resilience.
One reporter, however, attempted to drag the event into partisan territory by invoking the Trump administration. Was there ever hesitancy or consideration of perhaps having an event at the White House and maybe a part of a fan base that does not lean into those politics with the [Trump] administration? the reporter asked, suggesting conservative associations might alienate some viewers.
White immediately rejected that framing, making clear he does not run the UFC through an ideological filter. I dont think like that, Dana White said, later emphasizing that President Trump is a good friend and a longtime supporter of the sport.
Last week, White had already signaled that President Trump would attend Saturdays fights at the Kaseya Center in Miami, underscoring their close relationship. Its good to be back in Miami. Yeah, Im pumped. We got the big guy coming on Saturday, too. Hes coming, Dana White said to Adin Ross, as the two discussed the anticipated appearance.
The president is a great friend of Dana White and has attended numerous UFC events over the years, a visible reminder that combat sports remain one of the few major cultural arenas not dominated by progressive gatekeepers. President Trump and Dana White made a grand entrance at the Kaseya Center later Saturday evening, while the UFC also rolled out its official trailer for UFC Freedom 250, signaling that the 2026 White House card will unapologetically blend patriotism, tradition, and elite competition.
