A New Trend? Vivek Ramaswamy Tries Changing The Campaign Donation Landscape

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has announced that his campaign now accepts Bitcoin donations.

On Fox Business, Ramaswamy said he hopes using the digital currency will "put the US Federal Reserve back in its place." He added that "if people want to be able to donate Bitcoin, they should be able to we've worked to deliver the technological solution to make that happen." Ramaswamy, who announced his run for the presidency as a GOP candidate in February, believes that the U.S. Federal Reserve needs to focus on stabilizing the dollar as a unit of measurement. He hopes that Bitcoin could grow to become a currency alternative for Americans wary of the growing insecurity of the U.S. dollar. "Competition breeds strength," he told Fox. "That's what it means to be self-confident in our own dollar, is that we don't try to suppress other forms of currency. So that's the message that I'm sending.".

Ramaswamy, a 37-year-old author and entrepreneur, spoke at the Bitcoin Conference on May 20, reiterating his belief in the potential of Bitcoin. He also stated that he is not afraid or made insecure by other forms of currency like Bitcoin that are out there. "And part of the signal I'm sending is that, even speaking as a potential leader of the United States, I'm not afraid or made insecure by other forms of currency like Bitcoin that are out there. To the contrary, competition breeds strength," he said.

Ramaswamy has also expressed his desire to revive national identity and pride for the next generation of Americans. He believes raising the U.S. voting age to 25 could help achieve this goal. "One thing that voters across the country are hungry for is reviving that national identity, that pride, for the next generation of Americans," he said. Ramaswamy claims that he is in a unique position to do just that.
