Republican Rep. Randy Fine of Florida has formally aligned himself with the House Freedom Caucus, further consolidating his position among the most outspoken conservatives in Congress.
According to Fox News, Fine announced the move in a post on X, declaring, "HUGE NEWS: Im proud to announce that I have officially joined the strongest group of conservative patriots in Congress." He praised the caucus mission, adding, "The House @freedomcaucus exists to save our country and preserve freedom, not manage our decline. Thats what I love about this group. I look forward to continuing the fight alongside my HFC colleagues to advance the MAGA agenda and fight for conservative principles."
Fine, who represents Florida's 6th Congressional District, entered the House last year after winning a special election to replace Republican Mike Waltz. His rise has been closely tied to the America First movement and to President Donald Trumps enduring influence over the GOP base.
President Trump endorsed Fine even before his congressional run was official, writing on Truth Social in November 2024, "Should he decide to enter this Race, Randy Fine has my Complete and Total Endorsement. RUN, RANDY, RUN!" The president later reaffirmed his support, stating that Fine "is doing a fantastic job representing Floridas 6th Congressional District!" and that the congressman "has my Complete and Total Endorsement."
Fine has framed his decision to join the Freedom Caucus as a choice between complacency and confrontation with the Left. "I found in my first year in Congress that there are two types of Republicans: those who want to save America and those who want to manage our decline politely," he noted, according to The Daily Signal. "They were unquestionably the group whose values were most in line with mine."
He emphasized the caucus focus on fiscal restraint and limited government as central to his decision. "Trying to manage the budget, trying to get the government under control, trying to stand up to the Left they seemed to be the group whose values were most in line with mine," he said, according to the outlet.
