Jennifer Siebel Newsom, the wife of California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), has seized on the recent departures of Pam Bondi and Kristi Noem from President Donald Trumps administration to claim they reveal a deeper hostility toward women inside the Republican Party.
According to Breitbart, Newsom used an Instagram video to argue that the exits of these two high-profile conservative women were not isolated events but part of what she framed as a systemic pattern. She focused on Bondi, whom President Trump announced on April 2 would leave her post as attorney general for a position in the private sector, and on Noem, whom Trump said on March 5 would depart the Department of Homeland Security to serve as special envoy for The Shield of the Americas, with Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) selected to replace her as DHS secretary.
In the video, Newsom declared it was no surprise to me that the first two prominent people pushed out of this administration were women. She insisted that conservative women in Trumps orbit are promoted only conditionally, contending they are elevated so long as they serve the interests of the patriarch at the top.
Newsom escalated her rhetoric by portraying the Trump team as inherently hostile to womens dignity and security. Theres no secure place inside this hand picked patriarchal body that systemically disrespects, devalues, and discriminates against women and girls, and this is where complicity comes in, because when you align yourself with that value system, with a leader who has publicly devalued women, degraded them and been found liable of abusing women, she said.
She went on to argue that women who work with President Trump may appear to wield influence but, in her view, their authority is fleeting and conditional. Their power, she warned, is temporary and ultimately they will come for you.
Newsom concluded her message with a sweeping denunciation of the Republican Party under Trumps leadership. No woman is safe in Trumps Republican Party unless she has enough wealth or the ability to buy her own job security and safety. So my friends, regardless of your political affiliation, you might wanna wake up and see this for what it truly is. Its a war on all women.
Breitbarts John Nolte revisited Newsoms broader gender politics, underscoring how her ideological commitments extend well beyond partisan attacks on President Trump. He noted that she prefers the label first partner rather than first lady because she deems it more gender inclusive, and cited her remark, Ive given our boys dolls, even if they tear the head off, so they learn that care and caregiving is not just an activity thats reserved for women, but that its also an activity that is a responsibility of men.
Nolte also highlighted her admission that, If Im reading a book and the protagonist is male, I just change he to she, because she wants her sons to see that women can be the center of the story. He further pointed to her statement that Were all kind of in a place in history maybe where recognizing whats ultimately deconstruct gender roles and ultimately be human, as well as her decision to take her children on a tour of red states so they could learn about racism, sexism, and bullying.
For many conservatives, these comments reinforce the perception that Newsoms attacks on President Trump and Republican women are less about genuine concern for female empowerment and more about advancing a radical, left-wing redefinition of gender, family, and culture. Her rhetoric of a war on all women, combined with her efforts to deconstruct gender roles, underscores the widening gulf between progressive elites in deep-blue states and the millions of women who freely choose to serve, lead, and thrive within Trumps Republican Party.
