Second Child Saved In Weeks By ICE AgentsThese Quiet Acts Of Heroism Blow Up The Heartless Fascist Narrative

As progressive politicians and their media allies vilify Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers as villains, the men and women of ICE continue performing the quiet, often dangerous work of protecting American lives.

According to Western Journal, that reality was on vivid display Wednesday at New Yorks John F. Kennedy International Airport, where an ICE agent rushed to the aid of a one-year-old boy who suddenly stopped breathing. The Department of Homeland Security detailed the incident, stating, The heroic actions of this officer began when a one-year-old child became unresponsive in the arms of his father, unable to breathe for almost two minutes.

Security footage captured the terrifying moment when the childs condition deteriorated in full view of other travelers. CCTV review shows a passenger in a TSA Precheck line holding his one-year-old in his arms when the childs arms go lifeless; panic ensues, and the father is seen scrambling around the area, and calling for help.

An ICE officer on duty nearby heard the commotion and immediately ran toward the distressed family rather than away from it. The father handed the child to the officer, who then assessed the unresponsive child and began performing the Heimlich maneuver, DHS said.

Within moments, the agents training and composure made the difference between life and death. After a few seconds, the child started breathing again.

Emergency medical personnel soon arrived and examined the boy, confirming that he had recovered from the medical crisis. Thanks to the decisive intervention of the unnamed ICE officer, the child was deemed healthy enough to travel and later boarded his flight with his family.

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin publicly commended the officers actions, highlighting what genuine public service looks like in practice. The ICE agent sprang into action and saved this one-year-old childs life. If our agent had not been there and stepped up, this would have been a tragic outcome, Secretary Markwayne Mullin said.

Mullin also addressed the broader political climate in which ICE officers are routinely maligned by left-wing activists and sympathetic media outlets. Despite the endless smears and lies told about them by sanctuary politicians and the media, our ICE officers show up every day to protect the Homeland and their fellow Americans, Mullin underscored.

This was not an isolated act of heroism but the second time in recent weeks that ICE personnel have saved a childs life. On Feb. 20, several off-duty ICE agents in Plymouth, Minnesota, intervened when a four-year-old boy nearly drowned in a hotel swimming pool.

Off-duty ICE law enforcement agents were dining at a restaurant in Plymouth, Minnesota, when they were approached by a panicked woman seeking assistance for a four-year-old child who was unresponsive from drowning in a hotel swimming pool, DHS recounted. The agents rushed to the scene, administered CPR, and the child regained consciousness because of their prompt, life-saving efforts.

These episodes of selfless service stand in stark contrast to the caricature promoted by the left, which routinely paints ICE officers as heartless fascists. In reality, the work they performoften without recognitionreinforces national security and strengthens public safety for law-abiding citizens.

While Democrats and establishment media figures devote their energy to demonizing ICE and championing the interests of illegal immigrants, the consequences of lax border enforcement and permissive policies continue to ripple through communities nationwide. Migrants who enter the country unlawfully and evade proper vetting too often wreak havoc across the nation, even as those tasked with enforcing the law are treated as the enemy.

No American is required to openly support or like ICE agents, and reasonable people can debate immigration policy in good faith. But to recklessly defame them and incite violence against them is a slap in the face to the countless Americans who appreciate the contributions they make to enhance public safety, and it ignores the plain evidence of who is actually stepping up when lives hang in the balance.
