Air Canada Jet Collides With Firetruck At LaGuardia Airport: Two Pilots Dead, Dozens Injured

A late-night collision between an Air Canada regional jet and an emergency vehicle at New Yorks LaGuardia Airport has left multiple first responders critically injured and shut down a major runway.

According to the Gateway Pundit, the Air Canada flight from Montreal, operated by Jazz Airlines a carrier widely noted for its aggressive diversity quotas struck a firetruck on Runway 4 as it was heading toward a gate amid severe weather conditions. The New York Post reported: An Air Canada flight arriving at LaGuardia Airport crashed into a firetruck on Sunday night leaving four firefighters critically injured, according to sources.

Emergency vehicles flooded the tarmac as passengers were rushed off the damaged aircraft and the airport temporarily halted operations. Emergency vehicles swarmed Runway 4 at the Queens airport after a regional jet heading from Montreal hit the fire truck just before 11:40 p.m., according to the FDNY and footage captured by the Citizen App.

Images from the scene showed the front of the commuter plane smashed and tilting in the air, underscoring the severity of the impact. The injured firefighters are from the Port Authority Police Department, sources said.

One hundred passengers were on the jet a Bombardier CRJ-900 and their conditions are being evaluated, with early reports indicating more than 70 injuries and at least several in critical condition. Sources said the plane was carrying a group of Orthodox Jews from the New York area.
