Pam Bondi Says Democrats Melted Down Over Missing C-SPAN Cameras and Stormed Out

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee turned a high-stakes closed-door briefing on the Jeffrey Epstein files into a spectacle, shouting about the absence of television cameras before abruptly walking out and abandoning their chance to question Attorney General Pam Bondi.

The confrontation unfolded during a private session convened to examine the Justice Departments handling of the Epstein records and its compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, as reported by Gateway Pundit. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has already subpoenaed Bondi for a formal deposition on April 14, 2026, amid mounting questions over possible mismanagement of the Epstein investigation and alleged noncompliance with the law President Trump signed last November.

Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche had appeared voluntarily for the Wednesday briefing, scheduled in advance as a courtesy to committee members ahead of the sworn deposition. Rather than use the opportunity to press for answers, Democrats fixated on the lack of C?SPAN coverage, effectively turning a serious oversight proceeding into a made-for-social-media tantrum.

According to Bondi, one Democrat screamed about the absence of cameras and refused to proceed, despite having spent the day publicly insisting they had urgent questions about Epstein and his network. We were there to answer questions. Its the evening. We came at their convenience. We gave them really as much time as they wanted, Bondi said, adding that she and Blanche repeatedly told members, Anything you want to ask usask us anything you want to ask us.

Bondi recounted that one congresswoman screamed that C-SPAN wasnt in there, so she didnt want to ask questions yet, and that Democrats then stormed out of the meeting. Their exit came moments after they had labeled the briefing a fake hearing and accused Republicans of trying to get around appearing for a deposition, a claim flatly contradicted by the existing subpoena and scheduled testimony.

Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon condemned the episode on X, calling out Democrats for their theatrics. The Democrats on this committee behaved like petulant children and created drama and stormed out. So much for wanting the truth! Dhillon wrote, underscoring what many conservatives see as a pattern of obstruction whenever scrutiny turns toward powerful figures on the left.

Chairman Comer likewise suggested the walkout was pre-scripted political theater designed to generate headlines rather than answers. They didnt ask any questions. The Attorney General is here, but they said they wanted C-SPAN in herethey wanted the cameras. Very, very typical behavior of the Democrats, Comer said, noting he had believed there were a lot of Democrat members who cared about getting the truth.

Comer emphasized that he had never seen members storm out of a briefing with the Attorney General, when the entire leadership of the Department of Justice is there to answer questionsand they dont ask a single question. He stressed that, despite the Democrats refusal to engage, what we heard today helped us and vowed that Republicans will continue with our investigation and move forward, signaling that the Epstein filesand the Justice Departments stewardship of themwill remain under intense scrutiny in President Trumps second term.
