****** Re-Title ******Update: DHS Reveals More Information on Michigan Synagogue Attacker

A rifle-wielding attacker who crashed his vehicle into a Michigan synagogue in what authorities describe as a deliberate assault on the Jewish community has been identified as a naturalized U.

S. citizen originally from Lebanon.

According to RedState, the incident unfolded at a West Bloomfield Township synagogue, where the assailant rammed his car into the building in what the FBI has called a targeted act of violence against Jewish community. The attack came on the heels of a separate ISIS-inspired shooting in Virginia, in which the gunman, according to the FBI, shouted Allahu Akhbar before opening fire, killing one person and injuring two others.

In Michigan, the attacker died at the scene, either from his vehicle catching fire or from being neutralized by temple security, who responded immediately. Remarkably, the 140 children inside the synagogues child care center, along with their teachers and staff, were unharmed, though one security staff member was injured and is expected to recover, and eight first responders required treatment.

As Fox News reported, initial information indicated that the vehicle used in the attack [...] is registered to a naturalized U.S. citizen from Lebanon who lives in Dearborn, MI. That preliminary detail has now been corroborated by federal authorities, who have released the attackers identity and immigration history.

DHS confirms to @FoxNews that the Michigan synagogue attacker has been IDd as Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, a Lebanese national who first entered the U.S. in 2011 on an IR1 immigrant visa as the spouse of a U.S. citizen, the department stated. He was naturalized into a U.S. citizen in 2016 during the Obama administration.

Local reporting has begun to fill in additional background about Ghazalis life in the United States and possible motives. The Detroit Free Press noted that, according to a neighbor, he lived in Dearborn Heights, west of Detroit, and recently lost family in an Israeli strike in Lebanon.

The neighbor said Ghazali had a brother recently killed in Lebanon in an Israeli strike, the outlet added, suggesting that international conflict and personal grievance may have intersected in this act of domestic terror. Federal investigators have not yet publicly detailed any ideological affiliations, but the pattern of recent attacks has heightened concern about jihadist-inspired violence on American soil.

Meanwhile, the political response in Washington has exposed a stark divide over national security and border enforcement at a time when the homeland is facing repeated assaults. There have now been four jihadist attacks on the US homeland in the last two weeks & our Dept of Homeland Security remains shut down by Congressional Democrats, as a protest against enforcing federal immigration law, one critic observed, adding, Just today, 46 of 47 Senate Dems voted to keep DHS closed.

For many conservatives, the fact that Ghazali entered on an immigrant visa and was later naturalized during the Obama administration underscores longstanding warnings about lax vetting, permissive immigration policies, and the refusal of Democrats to prioritize security over ideology. As President Trumps second administration confronts a renewed wave of terrorism, the contrast could not be clearer: while the left continues to obstruct robust enforcement and DHS funding, Americans are left to rely on local security guards and first responders to stop attackers at the synagogue door.
