Joe Rogan Unloads On Progressive Fair Share Narrative In Blistering Rant About Californias Failures

Popular podcast host and comedian Joe Rogan sharply rebuked hard-left progressives who demand higher taxes on billionaires while ignoring what he sees as rampant government fraud, waste, and incompetence.

Rogan shared his views during a wide-ranging conversation with journalist Michael Shellenberger, according to Breitbart. Californias done such a terrible fucking job of governing their state. That place is so crazy. Like every time theres some new law that theyre trying to push through, some new bill, and Im like do they just want everyone to leave? Rogan said.

After Shellenberger pointed to prominent billionaires allegedly fleeing California over punitive taxes and heavy regulation, Rogan argued that the real issue is not a lack of revenue but a lack of responsibility. The thing that drives me the most nuts is when these progressive talking heads start saying [billionaires] dont want to pay their fair share. With the amount of waste and fraud, you dont think there should be some accountability to how much fucking waste and fraud that has been clearly demonstrated? The solution is just to give more money? Oh and they can do it because they have it, so what you just give more money and now its $30 billion goes to homeless with no accountability, he said.

Rogan pressed the point that pouring more taxpayer dollars into broken systems will not fix deep-seated policy failures. What do you think this money is going to go where its actually going to help people and affect things in a positive way? he continued. Theres no indication that thats the case, that the real problem is they just havent had enough money from the billionaires.

Rogan ultimately dismissed the progressive tax narrative as both dishonest and lazy, arguing that citizens should demand competence before surrendering more of their income. He called the push for ever-higher taxes on the wealthy ludicrous, adding, Thats fucking ludicrous. That is ludicrous. Its such a ludicrous and intellectually lazy framing of this whole discussion. To say oh they dont want to pay their fair share. Fuck you, he emphasized. Thats not whats going on here. Whats going on here you have a completely incompetent government. Thats absolutely corrupt and they want more money.
