Boston Bombshell: Dems Star Illegal Immigrant SOTU Guest Now Tied To Juvenile Sex-Assault Police Reports

Democrats decision to parade illegal immigrants as political props during President Donald Trumps State of the Union address has taken a darker turn, raising serious questions about judgment, public safety, and the lefts ongoing effort to normalize unlawful presence in the United States.

According to RedState, one of the more brazen displays came when several Democrats publicly boasted that they were bringing illegal immigrants as their official guests to the late-February address. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) responded in real time on X, calling out three lawmakers by name: Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York, Sen. John Hickenlooper of Colorado, and Rep. Seth Moulton of Massachusetts 6th Congressional District.

DHS specifically flagged Moultons guest, issuing a pointed statement about the young mans legal status. Regarding Moulton's "guest," DHS wrote that "@RepMoulton plans to bring illegal alien Marcelo Gomes DaSilva. Gomes DaSilva is an illegal alien who has no right to be in our nation. We are committed to enforcing the law and fighting for the arrest, detention, and removal of aliens like him."

Nineteen-year-old Marcelo Gomes da Silva did in fact make it to the Capitol for the State of the Union, becoming a symbol for Democrats eager to showcase their defiance of immigration law. A social media post noted that "Marcelo Gomes da Silva, a Milford teen who was arrested by ICE last May, went to the State of the Union as a guest of Representative Seth Moulton. He left early after a Department of Homeland Security tweet singled him out by name."

Once DHS publicly identified him, however, Moulton apparently decided that the optics of his stunt were less than ideal and quietly moved Gomes da Silva out of public view. Rather than seat him in the gallery as planned, the congressman reportedly hid him in his congressional office, later posting a justification on X that attempted to recast the situation as an act of compassion.

In that post, Moulton tried to portray Gomes da Silva as a harmless victim of an overzealous enforcement regime. "Marcelo has been in the U.S. since he was 6 years old. Zero criminal record. You're not making anyone safer by targeting him. You're just proving how far you'll go to terrorize young people trying to build a future in this country. -SWM https://t.co/3QtrBOrgXI"

That narrative, eagerly embraced by Democrats and progressive activists, is now under serious strain. In an update to the story, the Boston Herald reported that it had conducted its own review of Gomes da Silvas background after he became something of a cause clbre on the left in the summer of 2025, following a brief detention by Immigration and Customs Enforcement while agents were searching for his father.

The Heralds findings, though limited by juvenile-record protections, are troubling enough to undercut Moultons sweeping claims. The paper reported: "Congressman Seth Moultons illegal immigrant guest during the State of the Union address is referenced in police reports involving sexual assault and juveniles, police say."

Using public records laws, the Herald requested documents from the Massachusetts Secretary of States Office and the Milford Police Department related to two incidents in 2021 in which Gomes da Silva was reportedly listed as a person of interest. The requests sought police report number 21-23101 dated Sept. 15, 2021, and report number 1-16254 dated June 30, 2021, both of which "also featuring the 19-year-old."

Milford Deputy Police Chief John Sanchioni rejected both requests, citing the sensitive nature of the allegations and the involvement of minors. He stated that the June 2021 report involves a sexual assault and juveniles, while the September 2021 report involves juveniles, declining to provide further detail.

Given that Moulton and other Democrats have aggressively promoted Gomes da Silva as a public symbol in the debate over ICE enforcement, the Herald is now challenging those denials. "The Herald is appealing both the Milford Juvenile Court and the Milford Polices denial of releasing Gomes da Silvas background on the ground Moulton has turned the teens story into a public debate on ICE enforcement," the paper also noted.

The emerging picture has already drawn attention from conservative media and immigration hawks, who argue that this episode illustrates the dangers of elevating individuals with unknown or incomplete backgrounds for political theater. One summary of the Heralds reporting noted: "NEW: The Boston Herald reports that Rep. Seth Moulton's (D-MA) illegal immigrant SOTU guest is referenced in police reports involving sexual assault and juveniles. Moulton hid him in his office during the speech and called him a 'great American'. https://t.co/k4kMLtcoe9"

For now, Moulton has gone conspicuously silent, offering no public comment on the revelations despite having loudly celebrated his guest and castigated federal authorities. That silence only underscores the broader concern: while Democrats posture about compassion and inclusion, they appear far less interested in transparency, accountability, or the safety of American citizens when those priorities conflict with their open-borders agenda.
