Legendary actor Robert De Niro broke down in tears while unleashing dire warnings about President Donald Trump during an appearance with MS NOW host Nicolle Wallace on her podcast, The Best People with Nicolle Wallace."

According to the Daily Caller, Wallace pressed De Niro on why he is always about lifting up everybody around him, prompting the veteran actorbest known for portraying mobsters and hitmento grow emotional and pivot to a sweeping denunciation of Trump. De Niro claimed the president is attempting to destroy this country, casting the political moment in almost apocalyptic terms rather than offering any concrete policy critique.

You have to lift people up. You have to bring them together. Period. You cant divide people. You cant win that way. Its a no-win situation. And look what we have, De Niro said, before escalating his rhetoric. Look who we have there. Its almost like a destiny to have this thing there attempting to destroy this country and maybe not even understanding why. So its up to us to protect the country.

Wallace responded to the actors tears by saying, You werent supposed to make me cry, underscoring the emotional, almost theatrical tone of the exchange. De Niro then urged listeners to perpetually resist Trump, framing opposition to the president not as a policy disagreement but as a matter of existential survival.

You better jump and run through the fire, because if you dont run through the fire, youre not getting out, he said. And thats what we have to do. Wallace closed the podcast by aligning herself with De Niros combative posture, telling him, Im glad I get to run next to you. Thank you. Thank you so much.

Despite a long career portraying violent and morally compromised characters, De Niro has insisted he would never play Trump on screen, a stance he reiterated in March 2024 on HBOs Real Time with Bill Maher. Hes such a mean, nasty, hateful person. Id never play him as an actor, because I cant see any good in him, De Niro said then. Nothing. Nothing at all. Nothing redeemable in him.

De Niro further predicted catastrophic consequences if Trump returns to the White House, warning Maher, If he wins the election, you wont be on the show anymore. Hell come looking for me. Therell be things that happen that none of us can imagine. Thats what happens in that kind of a dictatorship, which is what he says. Lets believe him. Take him at his word.

Maher, who has built much of his brand on attacking Trump, remains on the air, even after drawing a lengthy Truth Social rebuke from the President on February 14, highlighting how Hollywood and media elites continue to trade in dark hypotheticals while American voters weigh real-world results and constitutional limits on executive power.
