LA Dodgers Infuriate Fans By Issuing An Apology To This Group...

The Los Angeles Dodgers have reversed their decision to un-invite the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to their June 16 Pride Night festivities.

The drag queens who dress as nuns will now receive the Community Hero Award at the Dodgers' 10th annual LGBTQ+ Pride Night. The Dodgers apologized to the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and their friends and families, stating that they had received much thoughtful feedback from our diverse communities, honest conversations within the Los Angeles Dodgers organization and generous discussions with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.

The Dodgers had initially uninvited the group after faith leaders complained, calling them an anti-Catholic hate group. The team's previous statement read, In an effort not to distract from the great benefits that we have seen over the years of Pride Night, we are deciding to remove [the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence] from this years group of honorees. However, after further discussions, the Dodgers have now apologized and reinstated the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are being recognized for their life-saving work that they have done tirelessly for decades. The group's motto is Go forth and sin some more, and they claim to be a leading-edge order of queer and trans nuns.

Florida Senator Marco Rubio had also weighed in on the conversation, writing a letter to Major League Baseball commissioner Robert Manfred, questioning why MLB was allowing a team to honor a group that mocks Christians through diabolical parodies of our faith?

The Dodgers' statement on Twitter concluded by stating that they would continue to work with their LGBTQ+ partners to better educate themselves, find ways to strengthen the ties that bind, and use their platform to support all their fans who make up the diversity of the Dodgers Family.
