Five Years After Rush Limbaughs Death, Trump Drops Heartfelt, Emotional Tribute (Video)

President Donald Trump on Tuesday marked the fifth anniversary of Rush Limbaughs death with a public tribute to the conservative broadcasting icon.

Five years after the golden microphone went silent, the loss of Limbaugh still reverberates across the conservative movement, according to The Gateway Pundit. The talk-radio pioneer, who was a friend of the outlet and a relentless critic of the left, remains a symbol of resistance to big tech censorship and media bias.

Limbaughs defense of The Gateway Pundit in August 2019, when he spoke out against efforts by powerful tech platforms to silence conservative voices, underscored his role as a champion of free speech. His influence was such that when he revealed his stage four lung cancer diagnosis in February 2020 and asked his massive audience to pray for him, millions of Americans responded.

President Trump honored Limbaugh at the State of the Union Address that same month, inviting him as a special guest just one day after that emotional on-air announcement. During the address, President Trump paid tribute to the broadcasters impact, and First Lady Melania Trump awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nations highest civilian honor.

On Tuesday evening, President Trump again reflected on Limbaughs legacy in a heartfelt message. This is the fifth anniversary of the loss of a really great man, a great conservative, somebody that loved our country, loved his family, loved a lot of things, but he was a friend of mine. Rush Limbaugh, Trump said.

There will never be another Rush Limbaugh. So to his family, his great wife and family, I just wanna say we miss you all, we miss him, and therell never be anybody like him, Trump added, capturing what many on the right still feel about the man who helped define modern conservative media.
