A brutal home invasion in a quiet Greenville neighborhood has once again exposed the real-world cost of lax border enforcement and progressive sanctuary policies that prioritize illegal aliens over law-abiding citizens.
According to the Gateway Pundit, the early-morning attack unfolded on Wednesday when two illegal aliens allegedly forced their way into a residence on Louis Street, where they are accused of tying up, beating, and sexually assaulting a male victim in what investigators describe as a deliberate, targeted crime. Local authorities say 21-year-old Zaid Mayen of Chapel Hill and 20-year-old Jonathan David Garcia Larios, who has ties to Franklinton, North Carolina, and Virginia Beach, have been arrested and charged in connection with the assault, which shattered the peace of an otherwise quiet suburban community.
The Pitt County Sheriffs Office reports that the suspects forcibly entered the home at 200 Louis Street with the intent to assault the victim, turning a private residence that also serves as an Airbnb rental into the scene of a horrific crime. Arrest warrants, as cited by the Reflector, state that the men injured the victim with an edged weapon, restrained him against his will, and moved him from one location to another in order to inflict serious bodily injury and commit a forcible sex offense.
The victim, identified in the warrant as a male resident of the home, was transported by EMS to ECU Health Medical Center, though officials have declined to release further details about his condition. The sheriffs office has provided no information about the victim, including their medical status, age, gender and place of residence, the Reflector noted, adding that the warrant confirms the victim was a man and a resident of the home.
Sgt. Lee Darnell of the Pitt County Sheriffs Office characterized the case as complex and evolving, stressing that investigators believe the attack was targeted rather than random. Darnell further stated that the incident appears to be isolated and that detectives are pursuing all avenues in their investigation, as questions remain about whether anyone else was present in the home at the time.
The residence on Louis Street, a private home that also hosts short-term rental guests through Airbnb, has become a focal point of the investigation, though authorities have not clarified whether the propertys rental status played any role in the crime. The sheriffs office has likewise not indicated whether additional suspects are being sought or whether the victim had any prior connection to the accused attackers.
Garcia Larios was initially held at the Franklin County Detention Center, where jail records list him as homeless with ties to Franklinton and a Virginia Beach address on the arrest warrant. Mayen was booked into the Orange County Detention Center without bond, reflecting the severity of the charges and the potential flight risk posed by a suspect with no legal status in the country.
Authorities have confirmed that both Garcia Larios and Mayen are in the United States illegally, and the sheriffs office has notified the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Both men have been placed under an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer, underscoring a grim reality: while left-wing politicians champion open borders and sanctuary protections, it is ordinary Americans in communities like Greenville who are left to endure the consequences that President Trump and conservatives have long warned about.
