Financial and political commentator Kevin OLeary used a recent FOX Business appearance to underscore what he sees as the central message of Senator Marco Rubios widely praised foreign policy speech in Munich: the West must finally admit that China is its primary adversary.
Rubios address, which drew a standing ovation and has been hailed as one of the most forceful foreign policy speeches in years, framed the geopolitical stakes in stark terms, according to Gateway Pundit. OLeary, aligning with that assessment, argued that the moment demands moral and strategic clarity from Western democracies that claim to value freedom, markets, and national sovereignty.
OLeary traced the current tensions back to the globalist rhetoric on display at Davos, pointing specifically to remarks by Canadas prime minister. This all started a few weeks ago at Davos on the famous speech Carney gave, the prime minister of Canada, with the words new world order. That did not go well with the Trump administration, as you remember. He added, Actually, it hurt relations with Canada at this point, which hasnt really restarted on the tariff front.
From there, OLeary argued that the era of pretending there are multiple equal threats is over and that the West must name its chief rival. The point is though we are getting to a place now where theres only adversary, and I think its time to just call it out, China. Thats it. In his view, the choice is now binary: And so you either are with us, so to speak, against China, or youre not.
He warned that Beijings ambitions are not limited or defensive but expansive and ideological. Because China is getting ready for world dominance. As he put it bluntly, I call it what it is. Economically, militarily, AI, power, you name it, those guys are not fooling around, and if we dont wake up and get together on this, they will be the superpower.
OLeary rejected the notion that Americans and their allies should simply accept a Chinese-led global order. Now, if youre okay with that and you want to live in that kind of a world, well, I dont. So Id like to see this thing worked out pretty damn fast. He insisted that Because Europe has to get on board, Canada has to get on board, everybody that believes in democracy, freedom and capitalism has to get on board.
His warning was unambiguous about the consequences of Western complacency and elite flirtations with globalist frameworks that sideline national interest. Or, you will see those guys walk into your country one day. For conservatives who have long argued that Chinas communist regime seeks to undermine Western sovereignty, Rubios Munich speech and OLearys analysis amount to a clear call for a united, pro-freedom, pro-capitalist front before it is too late.
