Border Chaos Explodes While Jasmine Crockett Demands ICE Be Dismantled From The Top Down

Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett is again pushing a hard-left immigration agenda, openly calling for the dismantling of Immigration and Customs Enforcement even as border chaos continues to roil her state.

During a Monday interview with theGrio, Crockett, who is now running for the Texas Senate, argued that the current structure of ICE is beyond saving and should be scrapped entirely, according to Sean Hannity. Her stance comes despite a January 2025 University of Houston Hobby School poll showing that 60% of Texans support the mass deportation of most illegal immigrants, underscoring just how far her position veers from the priorities of a majority of voters in the Lone Star State.

Crockett insisted she is not opposed to immigration enforcement in principle, but claimed the existing agency is irredeemable. We know that ICE was referred to as INS before. And so I think that just like we went from INS to ICE, we have to do immigration enforcement. That is a basic, okay? We do, Crockett said.

Emphasizing that the United States is a nation of laws, she continued, We have laws for a reason. So we need to enforce our laws. Absolutely. Do I think that what ICE is right now makes sense for anyone, whether they are here with legal status, not here with any status, or a U.S. citizen? I dont. I absolutely dont. Her comments reflect a familiar Democratic pattern: paying lip service to enforcement while undermining the very institutions tasked with securing the border.

Crockett went further, accusing ICE of operating outside its own rules and federal law. They are against their own policies. They are against the law. And so I just dont know how you clean this up I think that we need to scrap it, she added.

She then called for a top-down purge of leadership, declaring, And we need to come up with something that actually meets not only the moment, but meets the definition of what they are supposed to be doing. I dont know how you fix this, but I think that we start at the top. And I signed on to impeach [Homeland Security Secretary] Kristi Noem, And thats where we start. We start by getting rid of her. And then we can work our way down.

Her abolitionist rhetoric is not new; during a Jan. 24 debate, Crockett was pressed on whether she would support abolishing or defunding ICE. We absolutely have to clean house, she said. Whatever that looks like, I am willing to do it.

As Democrats in Washington push to curb ICEs enforcement powers while haggling over a spending package that includes Department of Homeland Security funding, Crocketts comments highlight a broader ideological divide: conservatives demand secure borders, the rule of law, and support for frontline agents, while many on the left appear more interested in dismantling enforcement than in protecting American communities.
