Sen. Katie Britt Torches Democrats For Globalist Theater In Europe While Homeland Security Funding Hangs By A Thread

Alabama Senator Katie Britt (R-AL) sharply rebuked Democrats over the weekend, accusing them of prioritizing globalist theatrics abroad while jeopardizing basic security and law enforcement at home.

Speaking with Shannon Bream on Fox News Sunday, Britt contrasted the lefts rhetoric on global security with its refusal to responsibly fund the Department of Homeland Security, a standoff that threatens to disrupt core protections for American citizens, according to Gateway Pundit. She argued that while Democrats posture on the world stage at elite gatherings in Europe, they are simultaneously holding domestic security funding hostage in Washington, D.C.

Its rich, Britt said, calling out the globalist hypocrisy on full display. She noted that a delegation of lawmakers had just flown to the Munich Security Conference to talk about national security on the world stage, even as they undermine the very agencies charged with protecting Americans at home.

Britt was unequivocal in identifying who she believes is actually serious about border enforcement and national security: President Donald Trump. Theres no one better on the border than President Trump. Theres no one better on interior enforcement than President Trump, and theres no one better at making a deal than President Trump, she declared, emphasizing that congressional Republicans see their role as supporting that and elevating that.

The Senator stressed that conservatives will not abandon the rule of law simply to accommodate progressive demands. But what our Democratic colleagues have to realize is that were not going to walk away from enforcing the law, she said, warning that Democrats political brinkmanship has real-world consequences for safety and sovereignty.

Britt underscored that while Democrats know that ICE and CBP will continue to receive funding, they are fully aware that other critical security functions are being placed at risk. They know that ICE and CBP will continue to be funded throughout this, but they know that the other things that keep Americans safe will not, and that actual American workersTSA agentswill be the ones paying the price, she explained, highlighting the impact on frontline personnel.

From Britts perspective, the crisis at the border and the broader breakdown in law and order are being fueled by left-wing sanctuary policies. Look, we believe that local, state law enforcement should work together with federal law enforcement. Thats why we dont believe in sanctuary cities, she said, adding, We believe sanctuary cities are the root cause of so much of what were seeing today.

She insisted Republicans have already offered reasonable, good-faith proposals aimed at protecting both law enforcement officers and ordinary Americans. Weve come to the table with good-faith propositions that we feel keep our law enforcement officers safe and keep American citizens safe, which is our priority. And I hope that Democrats will join us, Britt said, urging Democrats to stop obstructing and start governing.

Britt closed by warning that the lefts political gamesmanship carries a steep cost for the country. I think they continue to play politics, Shannon, and its unfortunate because the American people will be the ones to pay the price, she concluded, framing the standoff as a test of whether Washington will choose ideological posturing or the basic duty to protect its own citizens.
