Border czar Tom Homan revealed Thursday that federal immigration officers in Minnesota have located 3,364 unaccompanied migrant children who vanished under the Biden administration as part of a targeted enforcement push known as Operation Metro Surge.
According to Sean Hannity, Homan directly tied the success of the operation to the policies and priorities restored under President Donald Trump, sharply contrasting them with what he cast as the neglect of the current White House. He credited the recoveries to the leadership of Donald Trump, telling reporters the prior administration wasnt even looking.
Detailing the scope of the effort, Homan told reporters, In addition to taking public safety threats off the street, ICE, here in this state, have located 3,364 missing unaccompanied alien children. Children that the last administration lost and werent even looking for. Thats because of President Trumps leadership that these children were located. He framed the findings as evidence that serious immigration enforcement and child protection go hand in hand when Washington is willing to prioritize border security.
Homan added that the operation also led to the arrest of murderers, sex offenders, national security threats, gang members, and other violent criminals. Those results underscore a core conservative argument that robust immigration enforcement protects both American communities and vulnerable migrants from criminal networks empowered by lax border policies.
Citing what he described as strong coordination with state and local officials, Homan said he has proposed and Trump agreed that the surge now conclude, with a significant drawdown already underway and continuing into next week. With thousands of missing children identified and dangerous offenders taken off the streets, Homan cast Operation Metro Surge as a model for what a future Trump administration could accomplish nationwide if it is once again allowed to enforce the law without political restraint.
