The scandal of Hunter Bidens infamous laptop continues to make more headlines.
A man who once claimed the computer was Russian disinformation now admits that some parts are more than likely true.
Fox News reports, Douglas Wise, a former Defense Intelligence Agency deputy director and former senior CIA operations officer, was among the over 50 former intel officials who claimed that the content of the laptop first reported by the New York Post in October 2020 has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.
Douglas Wise is now singing a different tune, according to the published interview with Wise on Sunday by The Australian. During the interview, Wise admits that he thinks the content of the emails was based on truth. Wise told The Australian, All of us figured that a significant portion of that content had to be real to make any Russian disinformation credible. Thats a far cry from what he previously said about them being fake.
Wise was one of the people that signed an open letter that eventually made its way to Twitter. Democrats cited the open letter to back up their statements that the laptop was Russian meddling in United States politics.
According to Fox News, ex-intel officials stated, It is for all these reasons that we write to say that the arrival on the U.S. political scene of emails purportedly belonging to Vice President Bidens son Hunter, much of it related to his time serving on the Board of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma, has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.
According to the New York Post, Wise has admitted knowing a significant portion of the files recovered had to be real and that he has no regrets about dismissing the expose.
Fox News notes that defenders of former President Trump allege both Big Tech and the medias suppression of the laptop story involving Hunter Biden was enough to sway the presidential election in favor of his father.
The matter is under investigation.
