A left-wing agitator in Minneapolis physically confronted a CBS News reporter on Sunday outside a federal immigration facility, underscoring the escalating hostility of radical anti-ICE protests.
According to Gateway Pundit, a sizable crowd gathered outside the Whipple federal building, which houses an ICE facility, where demonstrators were seen harassing law enforcement and independent journalists documenting the unrest. It remains unclear what sparked the altercation, but the protesters behavior suggested a volatile mix of anger, paranoia, and contempt for basic civil order.
As reported by Gateway Pundit, Border Hawk News footage shows a tense exchange between one of the anti-ICE activists and a CBS crew as protesters closed in on the journalists. Were just standing here, the reporter told the protesters who were heckling them and screaming in their faces.
The agitators appeared convinced that the CBS team was complicit in ICE operations or insufficiently supportive of their cause, a telling snapshot of the lefts growing intolerance for any media not fully aligned with its narrative. Some even seemed to believe that, because Larry Ellison purchased CBS and the network is now viewed as more friendly to Trump, the reporter was effectively a pro-Trump operative.
Despite the ownership change, CBS is still not a Trump-friendly network by any means, yet that did not stop the mob from turning on them. Eventually, a man shoved the reporter, prompting others nearby to intervene before the situation spiraled further.
Disgraced ex-CNN anchor Don Lemon then appeared on the scene, stepping in to calm the radicals after reportedly participating in other protest activities, and urged restraint by telling one man, Theyre just doing their jobs. The man in a green coat responded, But every time they do it, Don, theyre getting ready to pull some sh*t.
Lemon tried to placate the agitator while acknowledging his anger, saying, I understand your frustration. Youre free to yell at whoever you want to yell at, but added, You shouldnt antagonize them. Its not them. These guys have been working probably for CBS for their entire lives, and because over the month or two, its changed, that has nothing to do with them. The episode, captured on video, highlights how unhinged segments of the left now lash out even at legacy media, especially when they suspect any perceived openness to President Trump or to law enforcement.
