President Donald J.
Trump has formally declared the creation of an international Board of Peace to oversee the governance and reconstruction of Gaza, positioning himself at the center of a sweeping new framework for the war-torn territory.
According to Gateway Pundit, the announcement marks the implementation of a key pillar of Trumps 20-point Gaza Peace Plan, first unveiled in September, which envisions a robust American-led structure to stabilize Gaza while sidelining entrenched terrorist elements.
Trump stated that the Board of Peace, which he will personally head and chair, has now been fully constituted, with its membership to be revealed shortly, signaling a decisive move toward what his team describes as a transition from mere ceasefire to lasting order and security.
In a statement released Thursday, Trump declared, It is my Great Honor to announce that THE BOARD OF PEACE has been formed. He added, The Members of the Board will be announced shortly, but I can say with certainty that it is the Greatest and Most Prestigious Board ever assembled at any time, any place.
Trump signed the message as DONALD J. TRUMP PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, underscoring his view of the initiative as a continuation of his presidential leadership on the world stage. The move reflects a characteristically assertive approach to foreign policy, rooted in the doctrine he has long summarized as PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH.
The Boards formation follows the rollout of Phase Two of the Gaza Peace Plan, announced by Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff. This phase is designed to move beyond emergency relief and ceasefire maintenance toward structural change in Gazas governance and security environment.
Witkoff, speaking on behalf of the Trump team, revealed that Gaza is set to be redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Gaza, who have suffered more than enough. He announced on X that Phase Two establishes a transitional technocratic Palestinian administration in Gaza, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), and begins the full demilitarization and reconstruction of Gaza, primarily the disarmament of all unauthorized personnel.
Witkoff made clear that the plan is not merely aspirational but backed by firm expectations and consequences. The US expects Hamas to comply fully with its obligations, including the immediate return of the final deceased hostage. Failure to do so will bring serious consequences, he said.
In a more detailed statement, Witkoff reiterated, Today, on behalf of President Trump, we are announcing the launch of Phase Two of the Presidents 20-Point Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, moving from ceasefire to demilitarization, technocratic governance, and reconstruction. He again emphasized that Phase Two establishes a transitional technocratic Palestinian administration in Gaza, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), and begins the full demilitarization and reconstruction of Gaza, primarily the disarmament of all unauthorized personnel.
Witkoff also highlighted the achievements of the earlier stage of the plan, stressing that the groundwork has already been laid for deeper reforms. Importantly, Phase One delivered historic humanitarian aid, maintained the ceasefire, returned all living hostages and the remains of twenty-seven of the twenty-eight deceased hostages, he noted.
He further expressed appreciation for key regional partners whose cooperation has been essential to the process thus far. We are deeply grateful to Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar for their indispensable mediation efforts that made all progress to date possible, Witkoff said.
Trump, in a follow-up post on Truth Social, publicly endorsed Witkoffs announcement and framed the transition to Phase Two as a major milestone. As Steve Witkoff announced, we have OFFICIALLY entered the next phase of Gazas 20-Point Peace Plan! he wrote.
He pointed to what he described as unprecedented humanitarian achievements under his teams guidance since the guns fell silent. Since the Ceasefire, my team has helped deliver RECORD LEVELS of Humanitarian Aid to Gaza, reaching Civilians at HISTORIC speed and scale. Even the United Nations has acknowledged this achievement as UNPRECEDENTED. These results have set the stage for this next phase, Trump stated.
Central to that next phase is the creation of a new Palestinian technocratic authority in Gaza, operating under the umbrella of the Board of Peace. As Chairman of the Board of Peace, I am backing a newly appointed Palestinian Technocratic Government, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, supported by the Boards High Representative, to govern Gaza during its transition. These Palestinian leaders are unwaveringly committed to a PEACEFUL future! Trump declared.
Trump also outlined a hardline approach toward Hamas, combining diplomatic backing from regional states with a demand for total disarmament. With the support of Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar, we will secure a COMPREHENSIVE Demilitarization Agreement with Hamas, including the surrender of ALL weapons, and the dismantling of EVERY tunnel, he said.
He warned that Hamas has no room to maneuver if it wishes to avoid severe repercussions. Hamas must IMMEDIATELY honor its commitments, including the return of the final body to Israel, and proceed without delay to full Demilitarization. As I have said before, they can do this the easy way, or the hard way. The people of Gaza have suffered long enough. The time is NOW, Trump insisted.
The President closed his message with the familiar credo that defined his first-term foreign policy posture. PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH, he wrote, encapsulating a strategy that seeks to pair humanitarian relief and reconstruction with uncompromising security demands and a clear rejection of terrorist control in Gaza.
