President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Minnesota this week, declaring that the Day of Reckoning and Retribution Is Coming as he blasted Democratic leaders over illegal immigration and massive welfare fraud.
The Presidents comments came as federal immigration authorities intensified operations in the state and as questions mounted over billions in taxpayer funds allegedly siphoned from federally backed social programs, according to Western Journal. Trump tied the two issues together, arguing that lax border policies and permissive local leadership have created a haven for dangerous criminals and corrupt actors who exploit both the system and law-abiding citizens.
Trump, posting on Truth Social, painted a grim picture of what he said Democratic policies have unleashed on Minnesota communities. Do the people of Minnesota really want to live in a community in which [there] are thousands of already convicted m*rderers, drug dealers and addicts, r*pists, violent released and escaped prisoners, dangerous people from foreign mental institutions and insane asylums, and other deadly criminals too dangerous to even mention[?] he asked, warning that the stakes for public safety could not be higher.
He defended Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers, arguing that they are being vilified for doing the basic work of protecting American neighborhoods. All the patriots of ICE want to do is remove them from your neighborhood and send them back to the prisons and mental institutions from where they came, most in foreign Countries who illegally entered the USA [through] Sleepy Joe Bidens HORRIBLE Open [Borders] Policy, Trump wrote, directly blaming President Joe Bidens administration for the influx.
Trump also pointed to past enforcement efforts as evidence that a tougher stance works, even in deep-blue jurisdictions. Every place we go, crime comes down. In Chicago, despite a weak and incompetent Governor and Mayor fighting us all the way, a big improvement was made. Thousands of Criminals were removed! he wrote, suggesting that similar results are possible in Minnesota if local leaders cooperate.
The President then turned his fire on Minnesota Democrats, accusing them of exploiting unrest to distract from a massive scandal involving federal funds. Minnesota Democrats love the unrest that anarchists and professional agitators are causing because it gets the spotlight off of the 19 Billion Dollars that was [stolen] by really bad and deranged people. FEAR NOT, GREAT PEOPLE OF MINNESOTA, THE DAY OF RECKONING & RETRIBUTION IS COMING! he posted, framing the controversy as a test of accountability for political elites.
Federal officials, for their part, signaled they have no intention of backing down from immigration enforcement in the state, even after the recent death of Renee Good during a confrontation with an ICE agent. The Department of Homeland Security emphasized that its mission remains focused on removing dangerous offenders, not bowing to political pressure or street unrest.
As rioters and sanctuary politicians demonized and attempted to obstruct our brave ICE law enforcement, our officers continued to remove the worst of the worst from Minnesota, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a DHS news release, underscoring the agencys frustration with local resistance. Some of the worst of the worst removed from Minnesota over the weekend included child abusers, drug traffickers, domestic violence perpetrators, and armed assailants. We will not let rioters or sanctuary politicians slow us down from arresting and removing the worst of the worst from Minnesota neighborhoods, she said, reiterating that public safety remains the priority.
DHS is now pressing Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey to cooperate with federal authorities by honoring immigration detainers for roughly 1,300 criminal illegal aliens currently in state and local custody, according to Fox News. Walz and Frey refuse, McLaughlin said, aligning themselves with the broader sanctuary movement that conservatives argue puts ideology ahead of citizens safety.
McLaughlin charged that the two Democratic leaders have already released nearly 470 criminal illegal aliens into Minneapolis rather than work with ICE to remove them from the country. We are calling on Walz and Frey to stop this dangerous policy and commit to honoring the ICE arrest detainers of the more than 1,360 criminal illegal aliens in Minnesotas custody, she said, warning that continued defiance will only compound the risks to ordinary residents.
It is common sense. Criminal illegal aliens should not be released back onto our streets to terrorize more innocent Americans, McLaughlin added, echoing a view widely held on the right that border security and immigration enforcement are basic duties of government, not optional political statements. For Trump and his supporters, Minnesota has become a vivid example of what happens when progressive leaders embrace sanctuary policies, ignore federal detainers, and preside over massive fraud in social programs, leaving taxpayers and law-abiding families to bear the cost of their ideological experiments.
