Actor and comedian Rosie ODonnell has once again launched into a tirade against President Donald Trump, this time denouncing his role in the arrest of Venezuelan strongman Nicols Maduro as illegal and a war crime while speaking from her new home in Dublin, Ireland.
According to Breitbart, ODonnells latest outburst comes despite her own admission that her mental health counselor advised her to stop obsessing over President Trump, guidance she appears unwilling to follow. Instead, she has intensified her rhetoric in response to Trumps decisive actions in Venezuela, actions that many conservatives view as a long-overdue stand against a socialist dictator who has brutalized his own people.
ODonnell, who has renounced life in the United States to become an Irish citizen, nevertheless lamented what she described as the state of our country while complaining about her inability to sleep. So, America How you doing. This is a rare time for our country, she said, before pivoting to another attack on the President.
She then portrayed the United States as being led by a reckless autocrat, declaring, A mad man in charge with absolutely no guardrails. People are saying were happy were from Venezuela, were happy. I can understand why youre happy if youre Venezuelaian but if youre an American who believes in the Constitution what he did was illegal and a war crime. You cant just go removing people from the office of presidency, she exclaimed. Her comments ignored the fact that Maduro is widely regarded as a dictator whose fraudulent elections and human-rights abuses have driven millions of Venezuelans into poverty and exile.
In reality, Trumps move to take Maduro into custody followed years of bipartisan pressure and explicit calls from the Biden administration to bring the Venezuelan leader to justice. Bidens own team had even raised the bounty on Maduros capture to $25 million, underscoring Washingtons consensus that he is a criminal, not a legitimate president.
There is also no serious legal scholarship or mainstream analysis suggesting that Trumps actions in Venezuela were illegal, much less a war crime. ODonnell nonetheless pressed on, spinning a broader conspiracy that conservative institutions were secretly orchestrating events.
Hes mentally unstable. Something has to be done. Like and quickly, she rambled. Its dangerous. Dangerous for everyone. So sad, you know? So sad whats happened. And they said its gonna happen, Project 2025, the Heritage Foundation. Who would ever choose this for our country? Letting this morally compromised and mentally unhealthy and physically unwell man run the country and ruin it Its too depressing, it really is. Her remarks targeted the Heritage Foundation and its Project 2025 policy agenda, a mainstream conservative effort to restore constitutional governance and rein in the administrative state, not a shadowy plot to topple foreign leaders.
Contrary to ODonnells claims about Trumps health, the president recently passed his physical examination with flying colors, according to official reports. While Hollywood activists abroad may continue to hurl accusations from a distance, their rhetoric does little to change the basic facts: Maduro remains a socialist dictator, Trump acted in line with longstanding U.S. policy, and the loudest critics often appear more outraged by conservative leadership than by genuine tyranny.
