Ilana Glazer, a comedian and actress who appeared in Miller Lite's "Bad $#!T to Good $#!T" advertisement last March has been caught on a resurfaced video admitting to censoring former President Trump's name on her show.
In an interview with Stephen Colbert in 2017, Glazer referred to Trump as "President Bleep," stating he gets enough airtime. Glazer starred as the leading character in the show Broad City, which ended in 2019.
The advertisement, which featured a feminist lady lamenting women consuming beer in bikinis, has since been removed from Miller Lite's platforms following a backlash against the company over its participation in "woke" trends. Some have referred to it as the "next Bud Light." Glazer begins the commercial by sharing a "little-known fact" that "women were among the very first to brew beer - ever." She then criticizes the industry for paying homage to the founding mothers of beer by putting them in bikinis.
"Today, Miller Lite is on a mission to clean up not just their sh*t, but the whole beer industry's sh*t," she proclaims before revealing that Miller Lite will be sending money to women brewers so they can "grow quality hops. Miller Lite has been scouring the internet for all this sh*t and buying it back, so they can turn it into good sh*t for women brewers. Literally, good sh*t."
Miller Lite's March campaign came just weeks before Bud Light sent a promotional can to Dylan Mulvaney, a well-known TikTok user who self-identifies as a woman, featuring the biological male's face to celebrate "365 days of girlhood." The move angered customers, leading to a boycott of the brand and the Vice President of marketing taking a sudden leave of absence, which many speculate was forced by the company.
Although Miller Lite has yet to face the level of pushback experienced by Bud Light, the beer giant does appear to be concerned, given its decision to suspend advertisement of the feminist commercial.
