Utterly DISGRACEFUL: Georgia Parents ARRESTED After Starving Child Escapes Home And Begs For Help...

According to a report from The Post, a couple from Georgia has been arrested for child abuse and negligence after their 10-year-old son was found wandering their neighborhood in search of a grocery store where he could beg for food.

Tyler and Krista Schindler were taken into custody by Griffin Police after their neighbors found their emaciated son lost in the streets on Friday.

The child begged the cops not to make him go back home. When rescued, the boy weighed only about 36 pounds, nearly the weight of an average 4-year-old. According to court documents, the parents were accused of locking the child inside his bedroom and leaving him alone in the home for extended periods, with no access to lights, food, clothing, or adult interaction and assistance. They also allegedly withheld hot water, views of the outside, toilet paper, and human interaction from the 10-year-old, and even beat him at one point, causing further injuries.

The child was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where he was being treated for malnutrition and a low heart rate. The boy also suffered from dental injury and disfiguration due to his starvation, injuries the parents allegedly failed to treat.

This child was, simply put, being starved to death, and it is tragic, said Griffin District Attorney Marie Broder during a press conference on Tuesday. I truly believe that this would be a very different case if he had not gotten out of that home. Officials added that other children were in the home and have since been placed in the states Department of Family and Childrens Services custody.

This case is just disturbing, said Broder, who has spent most of her career prosecuting child abuse suspects. Its heartbreaking. The Schindleys have been charged with criminal attempts to commit a felony, false imprisonment, two battery charges, and three cruelty to children charges.
