In a bold accusation, influencer Nick Shirley has charged Minnesota Governor Tim Walz with overseeing a massive child-care fraud scheme, alleging that $110 million of taxpayer money has been funneled into nonoperational child-care centers.

According to Mediaite, Shirley's claims were made in a viral 42-minute video posted on X, where he and his team visited several child-care facilities in Minnesota, only to find them deserted. "Theres no one here," Shirley states in the video, standing in front of one such center. He further asserts, "This is a prime example of the billions of dollars in fraud happening right now in Minnesota."

One particular center, the "Quality Learning Center" in Minneapolis, caught Shirley's attention due to a misspelling on its sign. He alleged that this facility, which is licensed for 99 children, appeared empty despite receiving $1.9 million in Child Care Assistance Program funding in 2025, along with additional millions in previous years.

Following the video's release, Shirley took to X to hold Walz and his administration accountable. "Tim Walz and the fraudsters arent escaping this one," he declared. "In one day, my crew and I uncovered over $110,000,000 in fraud. This is just the tip of the iceberg. We the people simply work too hard and pay too much in taxes to allow this to happen. They must be held accountable."

Shirley has continued his online campaign against Walz, labeling him an "American Pirate" and suggesting that the governor might either resign or continue his reelection campaign despite the allegations. "Tim is on the clock," Shirley wrote. "He will either resign and flee to avoid accountability or be dumb enough to continue his campaign for reelection."

The video has gained significant traction online, with notable figures like Elon Musk sharing it on X, accompanied by the caption "Prosecute @GovTimWalz." Walz, in turn, has criticized Musk for his political involvement, referencing an incident at a rally for President Donald Trump. Meanwhile, Rep. Tom Emmer, a Republican from Minnesota and the House majority whip, has also demanded answers from Walz regarding the allegations.

"4 million dollars of hard earned tax dollars going to an education center that cant even spell learning correctly," Emmer wrote on X. "Care to explain this one, @TimWalz?" As the controversy unfolds, the pressure mounts on Governor Walz to address these serious accusations and clarify the situation surrounding the alleged misuse of taxpayer funds.
