In a Christmas message, Hope Walz, daughter of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, criticized the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for its treatment of illegal immigrants.

According to One America News, Hope Walz extended her holiday greetings to those she believes ICE has "terrorized," expressing solidarity with them and others facing hardships.

"I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to all. Today Im holding our neighbors that ICE has been terrorizing near and dear to my heart and sending them all the love and light as well as all the unhoused folks just anybody that may be struggling right now Im holding very close to me and I hope you can all do so as well," she stated in a TikTok video shared with her substantial following of over 555,000.

She further reflected on the challenges of the past year, expressing pride in her community involvement, saying, "This year has been a tough one for all of us but I am so proud of all the work I have done in this awesome community and everything you guys do every day."

Her remarks have drawn criticism, with detractors highlighting her apparent disregard for American citizens who have suffered at the hands of illegal immigrants. Federal immigration authorities have been active in Minneapolis, targeting illegal individuals within the city's Somali community, which numbers around 80,000.

Under Governor Walz's administration, fraudulent activities by some in the Somali migrant community have reportedly cost Minnesota taxpayers approximately $1 billion.
