Joe Rogan, the renowned podcast host and former UFC analyst, has urged YouTuber Jake Paul to reconsider his boxing career following a severe injury sustained in a match against two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
Paul, who faced defeat on December 19, suffered a broken jaw in two places after encountering one of the sport's most formidable power hitters.
According to Breitbart, despite potentially earning up to $92 million from the event, Rogan argues that the perilous nature of such injuries outweighs any financial gain. "Dont do this very long, because theres a price that you pay that is not worth it. Its not worth it," Rogan stated on his podcast.
He warned of the mental health issues that can arise from such injuries, saying, "And that price is depression, deep depression, a severe brain imbalance thats going to lead you to addiction."
Rogan expressed concern over the long-term consequences of Paul's injuries, fearing they could lead to enduring health problems. "You could only take so much," he remarked, likening the impact of Joshua's punch to multiple concussions. "That was real damage," he emphasized, highlighting the potential for significant harm.
He further elaborated on the severity of the injury, noting, "If someones breaking your jaw in two places, the inside of your fking head, theres a lot of damage going on in there, too."
As Paul faces a lengthy recovery, there is concern that his injuries could make him more susceptible to future harm in the ring. The situation raises questions about the sustainability of Paul's boxing career and the risks associated with continuing in such a high-stakes sport.
