Under Trump's leadership, the Kennedy Center has seen a resurgence in its financial health. The recent Kennedy Center Honors ceremony, hosted by Trump, raised a record $23 million for the Center, nearly doubling last years total of $12.7 million. The ceremony, which honored luminaries such as Sylvester Stallone, Gloria Gaynor, George Strait, Michael Crawford, and the members of the rock band KISS, will air on CBS on Dec. 23.

The Kennedy Center, originally intended to be named The National Cultural Center, was authorized for construction during the Eisenhower administration. In November 1962, Kennedy initiated a $30 million fundraising campaign for the building. Following Kennedys assassination in November 1963, President Lyndon Johnson signed a bill renaming the yet-to-be-built facility the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. It opened to the public in 1971.

The renaming of the Kennedy Center to include Trump's name is a testament to the President's commitment to preserving and enhancing this iconic institution. It also underscores the importance of bipartisan support in ensuring the continued success of America's cultural center.
