Judge Jeanine Pirro Reveals How DC Police 'Cooked The Books' On Crime Stats

In a revealing statement on Wednesday, U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C., Jeanine Pirro accused the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) of allegedly manipulating crime statistics to present a misleading picture of declining crime rates.

This assertion follows a federal investigation that uncovered significant discrepancies in the MPD's crime data reporting.

According to the Daily Caller, the investigation, which scrutinized over 6,000 reports and interviewed more than 50 witnesses, found that the MPD had substantially understated crime figures. Pirro highlighted that during President Joe Biden's administration, a staggering 65 percent of arrests in the district were not prosecuted.

She remarked on "Americas Newsroom," "And the investigation that we conducted over a period of several months, based upon the report of the deflation of numbers, was very thorough. As you indicated, over 6,000 reports were looked at, over 50 witnesses, and those witnesses were ranked and filed from the top down And you know, Dana, whats amazing to me is that the U.S. attorney before me in the Biden administration did not go forward with more than 65 percent of the arrests."

This revelation challenges the narrative often promoted by Democrats and mainstream media that crime rates were on the decline. The MPD had claimed a 35% reduction in crime since 2024, a figure that excluded certain categories such as aggravated and felony assaults without weapons. In contrast, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) included these categories and reported only a 10% decrease in crime rates compared to 2024.

Washington Police Union Chairman Gregg Pemberton previously stated on "The Story with Martha MacCallum" that there were directives to misreport crimes, including robbery and burglaries. Pirro's findings suggest that President Donald Trump's federal intervention, which included deploying the National Guard and assuming control of the MPD, may have been more effective in reducing crime than initially reported.

She stated, "makes it clear President Trump has reduced crime more than originally thought."

As of late September, the federal takeover had resulted in over 3,500 arrests in Washington, D.C. The MPD has yet to respond to inquiries from the Daily Caller News Foundation regarding these allegations. This development raises questions about the integrity of crime reporting and the effectiveness of law enforcement strategies in the nation's capital.
