In a recent episode of "The View," Whoopi Goldberg, a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, was compelled to retract and apologize for a false statement she made about President Donald Trump.
Goldberg had erroneously asserted that Trump had failed to comment on the tragic shooting at Brown University.
To set the record straight, Trump had expressed his condolences a mere two hours following the devastating incident at the university, which resulted in the death of two students and left nine others injured.
During the Monday airing of "The View," Goldberg launched an attack on Trump, accusing him of remaining silent on both the December 13th shooting at Brown and the mass shooting that occurred in Sydney, Australia, on December 14th. Goldberg's ire was sparked by a post Trump had made on Truth Social, following the unexpected death of director Rob Reiner, who was tragically killed by his son, Nick.
Goldberg vehemently criticized Trump for his critique of Reiner's numerous anti-Trump diatribes, while allegedly disregarding the Brown University and Australia tragedies. However, the reality is that Trump had promptly issued statements on both horrific events.
According to Western Journal, Goldberg passionately exclaimed on the show, "Have you no shame? No shame at all? Can you get any lower? I dont think so. And what do you have to say about whats happened around the world? Where is our voice as Americans? Somebodys gotta speak up for us."
She continued, "Our hearts are breaking through all of this. Through Rob, through what happened at Bondi Beach, what happened at Brown. And you dont find the time to say, As Americans, we hate whats happening. You aint my president, man."
It's worth noting that Trump addressed both shootings during a White House event on Sunday. He stated, "I want to just pay my respects to the people unfortunately, two are no longer with us at Brown University. Nine injured, and two are looking down on us right now from Heaven. And, likewise, in Australia, as you know, there was a terrible attack And I just want to pay my respects to everybody.
Following a commercial break on "The View," Goldberg issued a correction, albeit somewhat reluctantly, after her false claims had incited outrage. She stated, "Im going to make a correction here. As it turns out, yesterday, apparently, You-Know-Who put his condolences out to the people who are looking down at us from Heaven and the folks at Brown. So my bad."
She added, "You did say something not what I would have liked to have heard from you but you did do it. So there you go."
Goldberg's hasty defamation of Trump and her dismissive response after being caught in a falsehood highlight the lack of credibility among Democrats and their media allies. This is not the first time Goldberg has been caught spreading misinformation about Trump, and it likely won't be the last.
However, the silver lining is that the public is becoming increasingly aware of the biased propaganda disseminated by mainstream media and the cohort of left-leaning celebrities, whose irrational disdain for Trump has rendered them incoherent.
