The Mossad has consistently alerted Australian authorities about potential Iranian and other terror threats targeting Jewish communities, as reported by The Jerusalem Post.
This revelation follows a tragic attack that claimed 11 lives during a Hanukkah event. Since August, the Mossad has been instrumental in providing Australia with crucial intelligence regarding these threats.
According to The Jerusalem Post, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and intelligence chief Mike Burgess have publicly acknowledged the threat posed by Iran and other entities to the Jewish community in Australia. They have occasionally mentioned the valuable intelligence received from external sources, with the Mossad being a key contributor.
Despite the failure to prevent the recent attack, there is no specific confirmation that the Mossad had forewarned about this particular incident. Instead, the focus has been on a series of warnings about the increasing terror infrastructure within Australia.
The collaboration between Mossad and Australian intelligence has been described as exemplary, even amid strained relations between Albanese and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In August, Albanese and law enforcement officials accused the Islamic Republic of orchestrating at least two significant antisemitic arson attacks in Australia.
As a result, Albanese announced the expulsion of the Iranian ambassador and the designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization.
The Australian Security Intelligence Organisation has gathered sufficient evidence to attribute the December 6, 2024, arson attack on the Adass Israel synagogue in Melbourne and the October 20, 2024, attack on Lewis Continental Kitchen in Sydney to the Iranian regime.
Albanese condemned these acts as "extraordinary and dangerous acts of aggression orchestrated by a foreign nation on Australian soil," aimed at disrupting social harmony and fostering division within the community.
