MTG Sparks Uproar After Meeting With A Group That Has Ties To The CCP On Her Way Out The Door

In a surprising turn of events, Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia has seemingly aligned herself with a left-wing activist group, Code Pink, which is reportedly linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

This unexpected alliance has emerged in the final weeks of Greene's term in the House.

On Wednesday, Greene met with members of Code Pink, a group co-founded by Medea Benjamin, who lauded the outgoing congresswoman as a "strong anti-war voice" in Congress. Benjamin's group is notorious for disrupting a dinner event in Washington D.C. in September, where protesters got dangerously close to President Donald Trump, branding him as the "Hitler of our time."

In a social media post on Wednesday, Greene responded to a post from Benjamin that showed them together with a group of predominantly keffiyeh-clad white women. "I'm America First and fully against funding foreign wars and support peace because that's good for everyone especially the most innocent people, children," Greene wrote. She added, "I have enjoyed a friendship with Medea for a few years now even though politics says that's not allowed. I've learned to find bridges with others and that's how we all win and ultimately leads to peace."

As reported by the Daily Caller, Greene is scheduled to depart from Congress in January 2026, following an unexpected resignation announcement that was partly triggered by severe criticism from Trump.

Greene's decision to associate with Code Pink comes after months of escalating criticism against Israel. Earlier this year, she diverged from her Republican colleagues by labeling Israel's war in Gaza as a genocide, a term that even some Democrats have avoided using. She was among the 18 Republicans who voted against the annual defense policy bill on Wednesday, partly due to the provision authorizing security assistance to Israel.

The majority of GOP lawmakers are fervent supporters of Israel and have contended that groups critical of Israel, including Code Pink, are sympathetic to Hamas. Greene also criticized Trump on Monday for accepting contributions from the pro-Israel lobby American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), using data compiled by a left-wing group. The founder of this group is a Marxist residing in Germany. Greene has previously argued that AIPAC should register as a foreign lobbyist.

Code Pink is a common sight on Capitol Hill, where it regularly interrupts congressional proceedings with pro-Palestinian advocacy. Benjamin protested Defense Secretary Pete Hegseths confirmation hearing in January 2024, where she denounced him as a "Christian extremist."

According to exclusive footage obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation, Benjamin was also seen harassing Republican Missouri Senator Josh Hawley in a Senate office building in April. Hawley accused Benjamin's group of receiving Chinese funding after she questioned him on regime change in Venezuela and Israel's war in Gaza.

A 2023 investigation by The New York Times revealed that Code Pink has received over $1.4 million from socialist millionaire Neville Roy Singham, who was identified as having strong ties to China's propaganda machine and assisting in spreading its talking points globally.

Republican Indiana Senator Jim Banks and Republican Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton have both called on Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate the activist group's "growing ties" to the CCP. Top Democrats have also criticized the activist group's connections to the CCP.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told Code Pink protesters who were harassing her outside her home in January 2024 to "go back to China, where your headquarters is." The activist group had previously expressed a desire to "briefly hold Pelosi hostage" to force her to change her stance on Israel, as per The San Francisco Standard.
