President Trump engaged with farmers during a roundtable discussion in the Cabinet Room on Monday.

Following this meeting, he addressed questions from the press, particularly concerning the resignation of his nominee, Alina Habba, from her position as U.S. Attorney for New Jersey. This resignation came after the Third Circuit Court of Appeals upheld her disqualification, a decision that has sparked significant discussion.

According to Gateway Pundit, Alina Habba announced her resignation on Monday, stating her intention to continue serving within the Justice Department as a Senior Advisor to the Attorney General for U.S. Attorneys. Despite stepping down, Habba remains committed to her role in the department.

Meanwhile, Bondi plans to seek further review of the Third Circuit's ruling. During the press interaction, President Trump expressed his frustration with Republican Senators, accusing them of allowing Democrats to obstruct his appointees through the 'blue slip' tradition. This custom gives home state senators the power to influence judicial nominations.

President Trump did not mince words when discussing the impact of the 'blue slip' tradition on his ability to appoint judges and U.S. Attorneys. "Well, shes not disqualified. You got a blue slip thing that is horrible it makes it impossible to appoint a judge or a US Attorney and its a shame and the Republicans should be ashamed of themselves that they allow this to go on," he remarked.

He further criticized the tradition, stating, "If I put up George Washington and Abraham Lincoln to be U.S. Attorney in New Jersey or to be US Attorney or in Virginia where you have Democrat Senators, they will not approve them! And this gentlemens agreement that has lasted too long. It means you cant appoint a Republican US Attorney!"

The President's frustration was palpable as he continued to criticize the 'blue slip' process, highlighting the perceived imbalance in its application. "And we dont play the same game with them, but they do!" he exclaimed. He also pointed out, "All because Senator Grassley with his blue slip stuff will not let anybody go by! And by the way, the Democrats have violated blue slip provision on numerous occasions."

After the reporters exited the room, President Trump was overheard on a hot mic expressing his exasperation with the situation. "You know I cant appoint anybody!" he vented. "Everybody Ive appointed, their time has expired! Then theyre in default, then were losing" His remarks underscore the challenges he faces in navigating the political landscape to secure his nominees' appointments.
