Watch: Stephen A. Smith Roasts 'The View' Hosts On Dems' 2024 Crash And Burn

Sirius XM's Stephen A. Smith recently shared his perspective on the Democrats' 2024 electoral defeat during an appearance on "The View."

Smith contended that the Democrats' failure stemmed from their inability to present a compelling message to voters.

In a discussion with co-host Whoopi Goldberg, Smith challenged the notion that the Democrats effectively countered President Donald Trump. According to the Daily Caller, Goldberg maintained that the Democrats had employed their best strategies against Trump, but Smith argued otherwise.

"But what Im saying is that during the campaign, were you doing what it takes to win? You had too many people going after him for stuff that wasnt going to stick. It wasnt going to influence his voters," Smith remarked. He advised focusing on winning strategies, cautioning against excessive attacks on Trump.

Smith emphasized that issues of affordability and safety are paramount for American voters, urging Democrats to prioritize these concerns. He dismissed co-host Joy Behar's assertion that Democrats exert more effort than Republicans on these matters. The economy and immigration emerged as pivotal factors in Trump's electoral success, enabling him to secure the popular vote and triumph in every swing state against former Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump's appeal extended to diverse demographics, including Hispanic men, blacks, Asians, young men, and blue-collar workers, who voiced apprehensions about inflation and illegal immigration.

Current sentiments reflect widespread dissatisfaction with the economy, with 46% of Americans perceiving the cost of living as the worst they have ever experienced, as reported by Politico. In contrast, Democrats achieved significant victories in the Virginia and New Jersey governor races, where affordability was a decisive issue for voters.
